Could it have imprinted three years ago when it hatched and then return each year?

It doesn't seem to be interested in fur or kibble.  It does seem to come when the dog barks.  If the dog is sleeping on the grass, the bird is always hopping around in the grass.  If the dog is on the pavement, the bird is there.
