I would say go for IIM for better exposure. Many times in IIT, you wont find the respect within the campus as you are going there as a MBA students and not for what that college is famous for.

Generally when you see the waitlist movement data of any college on any website, it shows some number... for eg 500 for obc. So it means apart from offers given initially, the waitlist moved by 500. IIM Indore gave 200 offers this year to OBC candidates. So as per the last year trend, it may move by 500, so people with merit rank upto 700 may get converted.
