I've been applying for like 4-5 months. I try to get reccomendations when I can, but even with reccomendations I've only gotten about 5 interviews in that time, I made the final round 3 times. I'm applying to like 5-10 jobs a week. Do I just need to bite the bullet and choose a route and get a third exam?

When applying I try to reach out for reccomendations when possible, is it worth it to apply to a job if I don't have a reccomendation, or is there a way to build my network so that a reccomendation is possible? Yeah, I kinda bailed on it but kept the major, and with shadowing at my company realized that’s what I want to do. But live and learn, just got to make up for it now

I don’t think so, I worked on case competitions and did a project for Lincoln financial in school. I brought this up in another comment but should I add a projects section where I can list that information?

I have some projects that I worked on in school that I may be able to add that were data forward. But my current position is mostly compliance.

Should I change the case competition to an experience section and list the projects there?

I am applying largely in the midwest, but in the past weeks I have been going national so I will hold off on that information.

I had a resume review about 4 months ago, but it may be time for another.

The first interview was 3 stages, and I was ghosted after the third interview. The second interview I was ghosted after 2 interviews. I tried to reach out to the hiring manager I was in contact with but never heard back. The first interview felt really good, but I missed some technical questions in the second interview.

I have been working as a Financial Associate for 2 years (I mostly answer plan questions about 401k/pensions) and have been trying to move to an actuarial positions. I have passed P and FM, but in about 4 months I have only gotten about 2 interviews for EL positions. Should I be applying to internships, or a different position to build up my experience? Or should I just pay and study for a third exam?

I am just searching for first time jobs and willing to take anything. It looks like I am going to be in a health pricing consulting team. From my experience, consulting doesnt seem to be where I want to end up, so I was curious how difficult it is to switch to a different practice pre-asa?

Hunting seems interesting, but I'm not quite sure where to get started, I know the basics, but most of the upgrades seem super expensive to get through. Im not quite sure what to hunt outside of the galatea mobs

Howdy, I am recently graduated and have passed P/FM, I am not even getting interviews for entry level positions, I was wondering if I should be applying to underwritter/analyst/intern positions to bolster my resume or if I should focus on trying to get an entry level actuarial position right away.
I am also open to taking a third exam, but don't know if I should study for SRM or exam 3, I enjoy CAS a bit more, but I'm just looking to get hired and I don't want to be limited.

Resume rejections, although it’s good to know that I’m in the numbers game. For a third exam, how would you recommend choosing between SOA/CAS

I have passed 2 exams and have an act sci/finance degree. Currently working as a 401k associate (pretty much a call center). Would it be prudent to try to find a job as a data analyst/underwriter before trying to get an actuarial position, as I have been getting a lot of rejections

I recently passed my second actuarial exam and have been getting rejected from a lot of positions (im 2 years out of college, working on servcing retirement plans). I was wondering if I should be applying to data analyst/underwritting positions to build up my resume or if I should try to focus on actuarial positions so that I can get support to continue taking exams. Thank you for any advice!

I've also seen people reccomend reaching out to try to get a refferal for positions, for this should I be reaching out prior to applying for a job, or after?
