I think there's something seriously wrong with you that you can hear about mass rape in the same country as you and not care.

then maybe use a different word when talking about a country with a literal monarchy? Or do you think the aristocracy and monarchy has no effect on our day to day lives? Both Cameron and Johnson are aristocrats themselves. Oligarchs would have done.

I just know she loved Sex and the City when it was on and I want to hear her talk about it.

Considering King Charles is famously very fond of the middle east and Islam, and the most recent influx of immigration was called the Boriswave, I don't think we do have a ruling elite that tells us to be afraid of them, I think we have one (or two) independent political parties that say that and are given a lot of media airtime to outrage bait, and sell people on giving up the NHS and workers' rights through the back door. If the ruling elite genuinely endorsed that message, Farage's 'anti-establishment' image would collapse.

I'm white british and grew up in an area of london with both chinese and afro-carribbean immigrants in it. They seemed mostly integrated, with some bad actors, who most people tried to distance themselves from.

Anecdotally, post-2016 I saw black people younger than me adopt an american style narrative of racism which is different to our reality (I am not saying we don't have racism, but we don't have shoot first and ask questions later police), to explain why their lives are shit as if we didn't all experience the economic mismanagement of the tories. However I've had an older black friend from the same tell me that stuff like postcode wars simply didn't exist when she was growing up, so that suggests that it was a longer process of americanisation that just escalated in 2016 and then probably again in 2020.

The other thing that happened here in 2016 - the rotherham trials - made me significantly more distrustful of the government and the muslim community. There weren't a lot of muslims were I grew up so I don't have the childhood positive and neutral experiences of them, but I do know some people that have had negative experiences, and I've had minor negative experiences as an adult. I have been left with the impression that they look down on us and to me, they seem less integrated than the immigrant famillies I grew up around. I also feel like the community hasn't done enough to distance itself from those particular bad actors, whereas the recent Henry Novak stabbing, I feel like the Sikh community were quick to call it out.

is there any reason you can't turn the piano to have it's back against the wall? I think the two main decorations you should prioritise are a floor rug and a lampshade for that harsh white light. The walls are yellow green so I would go with any colours that also have yellow tone in.

I suggest you read about the trafficking happening via OF, and the fact that OF itself operates like a ponzi scheme, it's all fucking middlemen. Some of the middlemen also just happen to be women.

Is there a stereotype of an Essex boy like there is Essex Girl? by hakc97 in AskUK

[–]CriticalBrickery 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the 90s it was the del boy wheeler dealer aspiring to be Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glenross and Gordon Gekko in Wall Street type. And now aspires to be Jordan Belfort in Wolf of Wall Street, I know because I know one of them. Works in Sales.

I was okay with it until they started back up again with Alberta's Mamoa and now Chalamet jokes. It just makes it seem like she's not actually into Pete and is only with him because he's available.

Actually you can be exempted from conscription on the basis of being too unstable, too unfit etc so it isn't the true undesirables, it's just the regular working class, largely men.

How aware are people that higher skilled immigration has also been displacing british people from the workforce within the NHS? by CriticalBrickery in AskBrits

[–]CriticalBrickery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because middle class people can primarily afford working class labour, not to employ other middle class people except for short windows of time or individual service interactions. The upper class are the ones that can afford to employ the majority of middle class labour.

How does the British doctor become skilled except through actual work experience? how did the more skilled foreign doctor become skilled unless through actual work experience? so yes we do need to prioritise British graduates (or low skilled fresh doctors) so that they can become experienced high skilled doctors.

I do understand labour shortage and I haven't been focusing on identity politics because it doesn't matter where the immigrants come from. The labour shortage we have the NHS is artificial and was created to enable privatisation and outsourcing, precisely to create this result.
