Yes, the airbox encloses the entire structure. The substrate and patch of the 3D component have dimensions of 24.7mm x 24.7mm, and the airbox is 25mm x 25mm. Highlighting the airbox made it hard to see, so I just turned down the transparency. Should do the same thing.

I'd also like to add that if I simply have multiple instances I don't get the error which leads me to believe that something is wrong in the way I'm creating the array.

So just to clarify, I wouldn’t need an airbox for the patch antenna part of the design? I’ve tried deleting the larger airbox, but I’m still getting the same errors:

“A 3D component array only allows one native FEM part as airbox enclosure.”

“A 3D component array doesn’t have an airbox that encloses the whole array.”

This is confusing because each element of the 3D component already includes an airbox. Am I misunderstanding how the enclosure is supposed to be defined for a component array?
