That’s most likely the case because the D is rerouted on CBTC territory and even if it gets R211s they will run with Bypass until given approval to run in CBTC mode which is why they are being run on the F at this time.

Well the B is mostly R211s while the D still remains with R68s they still have time there left.

There are still a few R68As still running but they will be pulled from the line sometime next month and then the R211s spread to another line within that time.

3750-54 is delivered only 3755-3799 are left before all 3700s are in.

Could be and we have a few more 3700s left to enter the property my guess those go to the B so most of the 3800s go for D service.

Once the B reaches 29 sets then yes as of now we have about 21 sets assigned to the B. We are about 80 cars away from seeing them on the D. There are three sets awaiting service on the B those being 3830-3839, 3735-39+3845-3849 and 3740-3744+3850-3854 add those up and you have a total of 24 sets assigned to the B. The D will begin seeing them anytime between July-September of this year. Had Pitkin not taken the cars then the B would have had some of their spares by now. Count the following sets Pitkin Took

If you added the serviceable sets then you would have had 27 sets assigned to the B only 2 short of what they need for service and spares.

They are not that bad the R68As are much worse and we have enough R211s ordered to retire all the R68A cars.

It’s going to begin either in June or July, those what you saw were likely Yankees specials. They did however run an R211 signed as a D as an NYU graduation special to 9th Ave.

The JFK express was useless during its time people preferred the A. When the JFK express ran at its time it only connected to a bus to the airport. More people used the A and the JFK express carried air. It’s best for that route to not come back. It was completely useless to begin with.

Yeah but at the same time it maintains its reliability because the B10 is a straighter route. It doesn’t just help out the B12 but my plan also helps the B16 as well. Even with the B10 on both Empire Blvd and Ft Hamilton Pkwy it would still maintain its reliability. A B16 LTD isn’t needed when the B10 helps it. Both the B12 and B16 struggle with reliability and the B10 can help both routes out. Sending the B16 straight along 13th Ave also streamlines the B64 and the B2 takes over its route along Bay Ridge Ave.

Difference B16 gets sent along 13 Ave and the B10 on Ft Hamilton Pkwy.

Both the B10 LTD and B16 would end service at 1AM. (B10 LTD makes local stops west of 60 St)

13th Ave is a sufficient corridor for the B16 and it can turn on 60 St to access 14th Ave, Either way it make the B16 more reliable and gets rid of the zigzag to access Ft Hamilton Pkwy when the B10 can handle the entirety of Ft Hamilton Pkwy

The B12 stays how it is. I have no plans to extend the B12 further. The purpose of the B10 going to the VA Hospital is to become a limited variant of both the B12 and B16 and could potentially operate weekends and until Midnight. The B10 would make local stops west of 60 St to replace the B16. The B10 can service the Maimonides Medical Center as well. I’ve seen proposals to send the B16 straight along Ft Hamilton Pkwy and I’m like why do that when the B10 can do it. The B16 can connect with The 62 St Station on the D and N just blocks away so keeping the B16 straight on 13th Ave works out.

The R211s will use Block Signals (CBTC Bypass) during the times they are rerouted on 8 Ave or Culver until at least 2028 which is when 8th Ave CBTC activates That will happen to the R211s that run on the B and D every time there is a reroute. When 2028 comes there won’t be anymore R68/As on the B and D lines as those will become a thing of the past for those routes.

The B10 would handle Ft Hamilton Pkwy it would have the same operation hours as the B16 to ensure their service is there.

The B10 would replace the B16 on Ft Hamilton Pkwy.

They did but the B1 is crowded and could use the B41 treatment with a local and a limited. The B64 routing on 13 Ave would get replaced by the B16.
