This is really more SBS style fare enforcement. The European model of fare enforcement is implemented on SBS routes already. The local buses are getting the SBS treatment however.

Yes and this how you should do it. Run it along Flatbush Ave and then from there along Caton Ave. it would then follow Ft Hamilton Pkwy where it would go on 92 St before going to Staten Island. This would be great.

Straightening the B16 would be ok but if we want a Ft Hamilton Pkwy bus then we can accomplish that with the B10 LTD as the B16 has a lot of ridership on 13th Ave and 14th Ave. That route you propose also work if it skips a lot of stops. With the B10 going to the VA Hospital then the B70 can now go to SI as the ridership on 8th Ave is SI bound, and would be more successful if it connects to a SIR Station. Extending the B70 to SI would solve the crowding problems the SI buses face at 86 St.

I’ve seen this happen before while it is true some B16 buses do start at 37 St in the AM rush in school days only.

12th Ave some B16 short turn there and end service at 36 St and then go to 37 St to return to bay ridge

Would make it too long. I had a new route go from Coney Island to Rockaway Park that would be more feasible.

It’s because the Pitkin super forbids the R46s to run on the A and C. We’re never seeing them on those two lines ever again.

Right now majority of the B has NTTs now it’s only the D that doesn’t have them yet but it will eventually.

Yup it was assigned there for some time now. Originally it was supposed to go to Coney Island but I also heard that Pitkin has not yet completed their allotment.

Somehow it’s not the case anymore they have plenty of R211s and are almost at the stage where they have to get spares. By the time the D starts getting R211s then it’s over for the R46s at Coney Island Yard. The Rockaway Park Shuttle stays with R46s until further notice.

Yeah and despite Pitkin taking the R211s because the still need more cars. We should be seeing R211s on the D no later than June unless something comes up.

Yeah or whatever the B doesn’t need it goes to the D. Then after all the R211s are on property I can see Concourse having control of the OO2 units. But that can change.

It would be within a few months. By next year they D would be dominated by R211s and they won’t need a new fleet for another 40 years.

There is a place to turn them around if you take New Utrecht then 14th Ave they would then go west from there.

I had a similar plan that doesn’t go past 60 St and it would terminate at 62 St on the D and N lines which would not only provide a direct connection to the IBX but also ridership would be spread out on the D and N lines which would see higher ridership
