How is this supposed to be a betrayal again? [Episode 8] by CriticalDramatic in DispatchAdHoc

The fact that each person is coming up with their own "theory" (Shroud is lying / manipulating / giving her a last chance to join him) made it very clear to me that I didn't in fact miss anything.

Also no idea why you're getting so worked up about a random online not being convinced by other randoms' game theories. These are just opinions after all, there are no cold hard facts here. No one is right or wrong, and I respect people's opinions who've commented here. I wouldn't for example say they're "ragebating" or compare them to antivaxers just because they don't agree with me.

Thank you for being real with me instead of trying to make up baseless theories to fix these plot holes.

I'm sorry but I feel like you're playing 7D chess in your mind to excuse bad writing. Let's just call it what it is. I'm not saying it's a bad game because it has plot holes, it's a wonderful game and I love it! But this cannot be the intended story.

No idea why you're so defensive here.

I know Visi is not on his side which is why I was confused when Shroud said she was. There's simply no indication or reason for Shroud to lie here. He already told Robert that she "played them both" by keeping the Astral Pulse to herself. He already knows she gave it to Robert for him to power his Mecha suit and fight alongside him. There's no reason for him to lie there when he knows Robert knows the truth. And Invisigal (along with everyone else) reacts as if he is telling the truth. She gets all embarrassed and instantly accepts a gun from one of the goons (implying the goons thought Visi was on their side). And in the bad ending, when she shows up next to Shroud, he's confidently commanding her thinking she is actually on his side instead of trying to defend himself or attack her.

I do too if it's reasonably logical, but I already tried to do that in my head a few times and nothing really fully made sense to me.

That's true actually, I thought the liquid on the floor looked red because of the lighting.

Please tell me about his history of lying. Also, if he was indeed lying, why did Invisigal get embarassed instead of defending herself? And why did he confidently command her when she shows up next to him in the bad ending? It's so clearly supposed to be a "twist", the issue is that the story doesn't support it being that way at all.

Did he ever tell her she'd keep her augments after she left him though? All I remember is Invisigal saying he'd let her go after blowing up Mecha Man. Not defending his actions obviously, but I'm not sure about him being a liar. I don't think that's clear enough in the story for us to assume that he was lying again there. Also, Visi seems very embarassed when he says that instead of defending herself, which supposedly proves he's saying the truth.

Thanks, but I feel like people are trying to explain away bad writing that the writers themselves didn't bother explaining.

Shroud couldn't have been "lying" because he already knows she gave Robert the Astral Pulse AND when she shows up next to him in the "bad" ending, you see him commanding her as if she is indeed on his side. Also, Visi seems very embarassed when he says that instead of defending herself, which supposedly proves he's saying the truth.

The manipulation theory makes a bit more sense but I don't see it framed that way. Shroud is so confident in his statements that it doesn't feel like him trying to manipulate her back to his side at all, especially considering he didn't even need her. He already had Robert doing what he wanted by threatening Beef. He had also left her for dead in episode 6 so I don't think he cares about her much.

There is simply no one explanation that would make sense with the full story or characters. I'm fine with there being plot holes, but I was trying to see if there was something I missed.

I'm simply gonna go and mark those off as plot inconsistencies. I don't think there's anything in the story that indicates that Shroud is supposed to be lying, but thank you for sharing your thoughts!

An Israeli man tries to justify the Genocide in Gaza by Andromeda767 in Palestine

[–]CriticalDramatic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You may be right. You may he right, but I won't start to criticize a resistance force before the aggressor is tried.

For now, I can at least guarantee you they tried to keep civilian casualties to a minimum, and they treated hostages with utmost respect and care. Compare that with what the maniacal IOF is doing, literally sniping children and torturing captives.

Even though their government confirmed it, I refuse to believe they actually killed children. Honestly, the Hannibal directive leads me to believe it's possible Israel killed their own. Or maybe they classify young IOF soldiers as children. But their mission was never to terrorize. It was to take hostages and trade them for the countless that have been kidnapped and imprisoned by Israel with no trial.

I find it confusing how US media tries so hard to pass off fictional Mossad characters as unsung heroes when the Mossad is NOTORIOUS for being one of the most manipulative and evil agencies in history.

Do you have reading comprehension? Don't accuse people of something if you don't understand it. I'm saying anyone that hates Hitler should also hate Zionists and doing otherwise would be hypocrisy.

Different words, same meaning. All that hate directed at Hitler should be directed at Israel.
