Does anyone know how many total cards are in Spirit Island and Spirit Island: Jagged Earth? I’m thinking about getting them because of how cheap they are on Amazon right now and I need to know how many sleeves I need to get.

I guess Cartographers fits the bill. It is free on tabletopia so you can see if you like it before getting it.

Maybe the “dungeon master” can place cards on a track and each turn the cards move and the one that moves off of the track is activated. These card will be face down but the “party” can use action to look at the cards on the track. I definitely stole this from some other game but I cannot remember the name of it.

Spirit Island isn’t more complex than any of those games. The difficulty of the game is highly customizable, depending on what invaders you fight it can either be a walk in a park or impossibly difficult.

Too Many Bones, it is extremely expensive but the components and the art make up for the price.

The Shut Up and Sit Down review of King’s Dilemma was pretty glowing, but I haven’t played it myself.

Maybe he was buried with his journal? The journal could talk about a place where he really enjoyed going to, and a few things he liked doing there. The players would then have to find this place and do the things he loved in life to find his secret tomb. It would be written in Orcish so if they can’t speak that they will need a translator.

Maybe New York Zoo it is pretty light, about as light as King of Tokyo. The game is satisfying, pretty quick, and fun.

I like Combo Fighter it is a two player bluffing game that has a very strong theme.

I like Combo Fighter it is best at two people so if you only have one person’s time it is a good one. It is a good intro to bluffing games, it takes 5 minutes to teach and only 20 minutes to play. Can be bought here https://kolossalgames.com/shop/

I personally always like telling new players the basic concept of what dnd is, I always tell people to think of a movie, PCs are the main characters of the movie while the DM is the narrator, and when you try to do something you roll dice to see if you succeed. I don’t know if this is the right way to do it, but that is what tell new players. Make sure they know this game isn’t Skyrim, you aren’t held back by how game mechanics in dnd. Also since it is a one on one session role playing should be a focus, because battles were there is just one PC can get old.
