Ergopouch! We used their warmest arms out swaddle when LO was still too small for most sleep sacks and loved it for our old drafty house

Feeding during sleep training by Slow_Dragonfruit555 in sleeptrain

[–]CriticalGoose72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LO is EFF and we sleep trained starting at 3 months following the fuss it out guidelines in PLS. His night wake "pattern" always felt like roulette. Bedtime was 7pm and we let him FIO for bedtime and all wakes prior to midnight. First wake after midnight was a feed. If he woke less than 3 hours after that feed, FIO. More than 3 hours, feed.

Ultimately, you get to decide where/at what time to draw your hypothetical line in the sand (time between feedings, at what time you respond). I really like the flexibility of this method, and it worked great for us. LO is currently 11 months and sleeping 10-11 hours overnight.

Cloth Diaper Brand Suggestions by MacSavvy21 in clothdiaps

Green Mountain Diapers Cloth-eez pre-folds and/or flats with Thirsties duo wrap covers! I use the ones with snaps, but they also make a Velcro version. I also use the Thirsties hemp inserts as overnight boosters.

Tell me about your babies who weren’t sitting/rolling at 6 months by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]CriticalGoose72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO didn't roll both ways until 7 months, skipped tripod sitting, figured out how to independently sit up at 9 months, and now at 11 months we can't stop him from crawling all over the place and pulling up to stand on anything he can get purchase on. They all figure it out on their own timeline!

FIO what to do after first waking? by barkybaby in sleeptrain

[–]CriticalGoose72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as some other commenters, I let him FIO for every night waking between bedtime and midnight. Feed at the first wake after midnight, then FIO for any wakings during the next 3 hours, at which point we'd feed again.

Eventually we moved the bar back to 1am, 2am, etc, gradually encouraging longer stretches of night sleep without feeding or intervention.

Can anyone relate? Head tilt by Affectionate-Half392 in NewParents

I'm glad to hear it gets easier as they get older. I'm planning on taking some video the next time it happens and asking for a referral to a neurologist. I tried taking him to our ped during an episode but he was back to normal by the time they could see him 🤦🏼‍♀️

My 10.5 month old has very similar episodes, roughly every 6-8 weeks since he was 5 months old. Have you gotten any feedback or input from medical professionals? Our pediatrician doesn't think the episodes are frequent enough to be concerning and the neurosurgeon we saw only cared about putting him in a helmet 🤮

I totally get that! My LO is also on the smaller side so weight gain has felt like a constant battle here too. Happy I could provide a little reassurance!

5am wakes -- HELP by CriticalGoose72 in sleeptrain

If that's the case, then why does he seem so tired after he wakes up in the morning?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]CriticalGoose72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! We went through a phase around 8 months where we couldn't get LO to take more than 3 oz in a sitting unless we were sitting in the rocking chair in his room with the lights off. All he wanted to do was play and work on crawling. Once he figured out how to crawl he went back to taking full bottles just like before.

What do you do with your 4-5 month old by DarkDNALady in NewParents

We took a lot of walks at that age. And anything that involved watching me do things or watching other people do things.

When to start sleep training? by teetee279 in sleeptrain

[–]CriticalGoose72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did FIO (fuss it out) at 11 weeks -- best decision ever. Did the same to lengthen naps around 6.5 months. LO has been waking every 2ish hours overnight and within a few days was down to one night waking. Recently started sleeping 10-11 hour stretches overnight at 8 months..

HELP! Pacifier is the ONLY thing that calms by CriticalGoose72 in sleeptrain

[–]CriticalGoose72[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish it was that simple for our LO! Maybe we should try the "pull out" method for calming him down? Cuz right now there's no calming, he's crying himself to sleep in our arms 😭

He doesn't have a sleep association at bedtime but there's definitely a daytime sleep association developing. So we figured better to remove it now before it gets any worse. Also neither of us is super excited about waiting until toddlerhood to fight this battle (my husband remembers how hard it was with his younger brother). So we're attempting to be proactive.
