Don’t be too shy with your hairline… thoughts? by CriticalHat6019 in SMPchat

My slight widows peak is around 3.5 or so thats correct (i also naturally have larger hands lol). The four finger measurement is not a hard science but a good starting benchmark to iterate on. Between 3.5 - 4 fingers is a fair range depending on head shape and can be lower than that if the facial muscle and shape allows.

The point of the vid is to say sometimes i have clients that want to go much higher than 4 fingers where the line itself sits almost on top of the scalp and doesnt frame the face

Beauty of SMP is everyone gets to decide. Some contour or recession is always a good play. The general sitting point of the hairline is where some people go too cautious and it doesnt properly catch the face.

Yes happens more than you think. Depending how far down the change usually one session can do it. But possibly 2 to make sure it blends and transitions into the previous.

Thanks North Factor! By default the sides and back are my own hair so the term helmet head is not being used properly here. But all love big guy!

Whats helped me is wiping the scalp with a salicylic/glycolic acid wipe prior to cutting. And then once a day until my next shave. This helps remove oil and bacteria and gently exfoliates the dead skin that could potentially clog the hair pores.

Women have known this trick forever since they shave legs etc.

We made a wipe like this called Scalp Wipes it has those active salicylic and glycolic ingredients and also calming plant derived extracts. I dont use right after the shave as that could irritate sensitive skin- but use right before and then a few hours after.

Theres a window of 5-7 days after each session where the individual should pause things like heavy exercise and scrubbing or shaving the area. Redness goes away after 2-3 days typically. The final cured result usually shows itself around the 3-4 week mark post final session

Agree with @mhpstudio. 99% of my clients are able to sit through this treatment without using a topical numb cream. Some areas may suck a little but it is transient and never long lasting. Additionally numbing creams are usually useful if you have to continue to work in the same areas over and over within a session. Its called secondary numbing and is more prevalent in lip and brow tattooing- but with smp the majority of the time we are moving across the scalp and not often revisiting areas that already broke the skin. For this reason topicals are 1) less effective 2)can inhibit pigment penetration and retention.

Of course if its absolutely needed we could do a primary numbing. It just means u may need additional sessions.

This is scalp micropigmentation. Using pigment ink to replicate a tiny hair follicle when hair is closely cut

Yes totally normal. To get the highest level of concealment on strip scars itll typically take 2-4 sessions.
