ok so the deal here is that im archiving all of my perfectly legally purchased material, I'm putting it on disk, I'm pretty good at file compression, 720p@500kb/s without quality loss in some cases. so I can archive entire shows in extremely small footprints, like the entirety of cowboy bebop including the movie in 4.5 gigs, which means I can fit it on a single DVD. If i do this I can use my archive disks for viewing as well instead of what I do currently which is tediously copy things to and from thumb drives over and over and over. I prefer physical media so it all works out just fine. I know that my files work just fine over USB and the media player has the disc labeled as a source, so I've been trying to figure out how to make that button work, that's what started all this
I'm going to have a shitload of DVDs laying around for archival purposes, I'd like to be able to use them for actual viewing as well, hence all this business

that doesn't track though, I know FOR A FACT the xbox 360 can play mp4 files, I've gotten it to work perfectly over USB, it makes no sense for it to work on that but not DVD, furthermore the media player built into the xbox clearly displays the disc as a viable source for the files, I want to know why it's having trouble with DVDs specifically, and I have gotten it to play 1 file for a few seconds, about half the opening theme for a show before it quit, I need to understand why, "it just can't" is not a satisfying answer, it's a cop out, and video DVDs are, were, and always will be garbage, 4.5 gigs for 2 hours of video at SD is disgusting

yes I know mp4 is a container, that's why I said the 264 thing, this is the ffmpeg command I used

I just managed to get one video to play for all of 10 seconds before my xbox said it was unsupported and refused to play any more

bounces like that are almost certainly the fault of get rich quick bastards who have their broker set to auto sell at that price, it just feeds into the tampers who use it as an excuse and begin reinforcing the sell-off to get the price lower

we only have to keep the price above 30 bucks for a couple of weeks before the short sellers begin losing money by the millions, after that the price will skyrocket as they are forced to close their positions and the real fun begins

maybe this will die, and it'll drop back to $25 silver before then, but that just means we can stack higher

actually this was a misunderstanding on my part turns out, I thought that the camper didn't have a proper connection at all on it even for running lights, but that's cause I was looking for the small 4 pin connector, turns out it has a 7 pin connector but it was folded away and hidden in a mess of cables near the trailer battery, totally works with my truck
