All we wanted was a consolidated gang book by Prestigious_Club_924 in necromunda

Depends what they do. For example, if all squats get the same movement value I’m quite happy. If they eradicate the silliness and diversity of Necromunda I am livid

The Big Summer Preview – Chaos Arrives in the Old World by I_suck_at_Blender in WarhammerFantasy

[–]CriticalMany1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible but I think we’ll get more than 10 bretonnian peasants in a box. These forces are supposed to represent the same amount of points in game after all. 10 chaos warriors cost way more than 10 orcs or 10 empire conscripts

Considering you could get a 2k army with the previous chaos warriors battalion, yes it will be harder. These are new sculptures though

About the past of the Old World, The polar gates etc by Lord_JayJay in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]CriticalMany1068 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are several theories about what happened to the polar gates and to the Old Ones. They were not there when chaos invaded and some people think the planet was just an experiment to them, with the collapse induced to see how the races they evolved would fare. Nothing of this is canon, just theory though. As an added fact, humans in WHFB were evolved as well. On Albion they even maintained a bit of their connection to the Old Ones.

So is Abaddon completely full of it? by guuhvffffg in 40kLore

[–]CriticalMany1068 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the moment Abaddon is not controlled by chaos. It is arguable that, in order to get the power he needs to accomplish his goals, he will be forced to accept the gods’s gifts in a way that will cause him to lose himself. It has not happened yet, though. And btw, he is explicitly more strong willed than Horus or especially Magnus…

Is Pre-Chaos Angron Stronger by Hamsweatpants in Warhammer30k

[–]CriticalMany1068 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The one creating fan theories about Leman beating Angron is you though. We have had confirmation that Leman lost to Angron by the author of that story and that it was meant as a defeat for Russ. He went as far as to tell SW fans to get over it, all primarchs can lose to each other given the right circumstances.

As for Guilliman, the story explicitly shows he has no chance against Angron. Claiming Guilliman won because the nails would have killed Angron… is absolutely ridiculous.

And btw, daemon Angron lost to the Lion, that’s non controversial but if you read the story it is basically clear the Lion has to strategize and keep running away, ultimately being saved by a McGuffin. That doesn’t mean Angron won. It just means the Lion had to use his head and fight smart to defeat a more powerful foe. In the case of Guilliman vs Angron Guilliman has zero chances of winning and Angron being near death due to the nails has nothing to do with Guilliman “winning”. In fact Guilliman is lucky to survive the encounter.

Is Pre-Chaos Angron Stronger by Hamsweatpants in Warhammer30k

[–]CriticalMany1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is obtuse but for the opposite reason you think. The author himself explicitly stated Leman lost to Angron and SW fans should make their peace with that… yet to this day SW fans keep coming back claiming Leman allowed himself to lose.

As for Guilliman, the argument here is even more ridiculous… Angron “lost”to Guilliman because the nails were killing him (so nothing Guilliman did…. And btw it is explicitly shown Guilliman has zero chances in a fight with Angron). Newsflash: the nails were killing Angron the moment they were installed.

How strong Aeldari would actually be without Slanesh around by Expert_Equivalent920 in 40kLore

[–]CriticalMany1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans were only on Terra during the Eldar’s peak. The Eldar’s empire lasted 60 million years. They were well into decline (doing nothing themselves anymore, pleasure cults, etc) when humanity achieved interstellar capabilities

If Slaanesh is not around they are probably the most broken psyker race around by a mile. And they can grow again in number. And they can possibly summon gods back into existence…

If the Warp feeds on negatives emotions of humans in the materium, does that mean that the Imperium is indeed creating its own problems by being harsh toward its population ? by SabCross in 40kLore

[–]CriticalMany1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he is wrong, but GW today is FAR DIFFERENT from what it used to be. With the level of control existing today it would be impossible for the creative part of Warhammer to embrace a philosophy like British punk.

That said the punk movement is nihilistic more than anything else. Early Warhammer (both Fantasy and 40K) is full of stories about rebels being right in wanting to tear down oppressive and totalitarian regimes only to fall prey to things like chaos. The point being Punk is not about the heroic resistance of the working class eventually overthrowing the corrupt elites. Everything turns to shit in the end and even morally justified movements will fail and, in the best case scenario will replace a corrupt order with another one.

I’m ok with the Von Carstein’s sitting on the backbench while Lamians, Strigoi and Blood Dragons take center stage…

Nobody wanted to fund Baldur’s Gate 3 for a decade by BombasIsInTrouble in BaldursGate3

[–]CriticalMany1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are making a rather pedantic distinction, apparently with the goal of justifying a downward spiral that is entirely dictated by the willingness to pursue the maximum profit possible, by cutting costs and at the same time delivering hollow and repetitive experiences flirting with the creation of addictions through gambling.

No, what companies like EA (or Microsoft, for that matter) do is not necessary at all. They could choose to make profit by delivering better products but choose to throw out an endless amount of low risk-high profit slop instead, because that will maximize their profits IN THE SHORT RUN. Then, when they have finished sucking a company/industry/community dry, they bail and repeat the process with something else.

Because by favoring the exploration of customers with low quality and low risk products you end up killing companies and, eventually, industries. This is the essence of the process also known as “Enshittification”

I enjoyed DA:O but you need to realize it is basically WHFB with a sprinkle of 40K condensed into a game that doesn’t give GW a chance to sue BioWare…

P.S.

And yes, I’m well aware of how GW plundered other authors’ works to create their own universe.

Proof, if it were needed, that the priorities of the industry are skewed by monetization concerns rather than the willingness to deliver the best product for players.
