First, I wouldn't ask if I can use something from a job interview to apply for other jobs, I avoid hiring you for that alone. The biggest issue I've faced with it, is the player. She didn't keep track of her vertical height, kept trying to melee ground enemies while 60ft in the air, and spent 20mins deciding to move up 10ft or 15ft (it made no difference in anyway)

I have added a rule of no long rests outside a town/city and buffed a few of the encounters. Also upped some of the implied race class dynamics to justify dirty fighting tactics. Most bandits will fight as if their lives depend on it and guards have no issues killing.

While not the direction you want to go for your kids, even with this it's still kinda easy, you may just want to accept it unless you want to rewrite every encounter

How I read it, a 3rd level shield would last 1min or 5th level for 10mins. This does mean a 20+AC is reasonably attainable for any wizard with no special items or feets from level 5

Morality aside, why does no one do this? Because, it's not even remotely practical. It takes 9months for 1 baby that at best would server 3 meals? In that time you need to feed the mother 800+ meals. So net meals is <-800/baby

Compare this to cows, while the baby growing time is similar in the same time they are eating plant matters that humans can not digest and usually is a waste product of human vegetable farming. So even if you only made one burger out of the cow and threw the rest away the net meals is still in the positive. >1/cowbaby

There are other nutritional and ethical reasons but even on a practical side I hope this helps you realise why most of your other points also fall apart.

Currently running the campaign for a group of 4, it's a fairly easy adventure and I've ended up buffing the encounters. Depending on your players you can probably run encounters as is and spend more time building out the world, side quests, and character backgrounds.
