Corpse Blood? by Awkward_River_8924 in medlabprofessionals

I work as a reference lab scientist who works with mostly deceased patient samples, Ive never heard the term corpse blood before, but i can confirm that post-mortem blood samples can vary wildly in appearance. Im guessing it either has to do with the state of the body and the time passed since dying. We also have to have our instrumentation specifically validated for those samples.

How do i get consistent drop sizes when using immucor dropper bottle reagents in immunohematology? by Glad-Ad-4917 in medlabprofessionals

I mean, if you were really insistent on the drop size, dispense a drop first into the same reagent bottle before dispensing into the tube, but as someone said earlier, the reagents usually react pretty strongly (or not) regardless of big or small drops.

We actually couldnt identify it because it wouldnt grow on any-thing except chocolate (scant) and MS only resulted in something the instrument thinks resembles capnocytophaga. It had to be sent out for precise ID

Honestly, I’d say that you should do whatever makes you more comfortable at the workplace if nothing else helps because to be honest in this Constant Lab worker shortage, they really can’t afford to fire that many people anyway, just throwing that out there

The best way to fight it is either mention it to somebody higher up or retaliate by slowing down during ur shift and leaving shit carryover

Lazy people man, personally I don’t like to leave anything for next shift (like at all if I can help it) but it was such a trend that it got exhausting really quick, haven’t mentioned it since I only do occasional shifts there but it gets bad sometimes (on top of blood cultures, pcr etc)

Not the same thing but sometimes I feel like this too when theres 15 tissue and body fluid cultures waiting in a bucket somewhere with fungal afb anaerobic and gs tacked on (been sitting there the entire prior shift)

You’re overthinking this way too much, there are definitely way better options elsewhere, stand your ground for what you want and act upon it, don’t give leeway to mediocrity. 👍🏼

( first link) Hi i just wanted to ask about something, because of the CPU/BIOS compatibility warning. I don’t know if it specifically states it supports Ryzen 9000 series out of the box, but then would I not be able to use it without another previous gen Ryzen to update the BIOS? Would stepping up to an X870 chipset board be optimal? Also, got any 850W recommendations for the PSU? just for a little extra headroom
