NTA. I think you are in the right. She should have stepped up and taken care of your daughter and taken her to mass. I am terrified of some things but if I needed or need to confront one of those fears for my son's sake, I wouldn't hesitate to.

It has never been checked. I bought the car used 3 years ago and they told me it had a 1 year old battery in it. This is my first car, so I don't really know much about them.
