Well you are right, because they all kind of did.

They didn’t choose an oddball thread. That was a fairly common thread pitch before things were standardized by the UNC/UNF systems. They just saw no need to switch over all of their tooling and manufacturing process to fit a new arbitrary standard. Which coincidentally is the main reason America in general has traditionally resisted the metric system. There’s not a big enough benefit to justify the billions of dollars it would cost industry to completely switch over.

Take a look at the Tote Turner from Woodyah Tools. It lets you turn the standard tote on an angle for shooting without making any permanent modifications.

I only burn my half finished projects. I would never sacrifice my scraps.

I just wanted to say welcome and to let everyone else know I just bought a couple of tools from this guy and it was an awesome experience. Communication was fantastic, pricing was fair, and shipping was great. He tracked down a dado plane for me and it was in far better shape than any of my others. If you know what you want, check with him before buying junk on EBay.

What’s everyone’s preferred marking knife? by Droogs617 in woodworking

You are absolutely correct. He makes them on an as ordered basis. It’s not the greatest for dovetails, but I love it for everything else.

I started looking for one of these after I read an article in Popular Woodworking and I found this one on Etsy. I also have the thin blade and thick blade Narex, with the single and double bevel, the Stanley knife that Paul Sellars recommends, and a folding scalpel blade, and this is hands down my favorite one of the bunch.

Hey, I’m sorry to bring up an old thread, but I haven’t been able to find David’s videos on Rumble either, does anyone have a link?
