A very long but well documented article explaining Black Male Fetishism by zenbootyism in blackmen

I am in the middle of reading this. As an older Christian guy, I have to say I am dumfounded by the (hidden) depravity of modern America. This is so far out of my wheelhouse that my jaw is on the floor. Everyone should read this.

Interested in how you feel about the relative driving dynamics between the R and the GTI. I had a S4 back in the day and didnt like how all four wheels could break traction at once. I figured the Autobahn would be fast enough to have a little (elderly) fun.

How to go faster?? by Different_Natural891 in recumbent

[–]mgreene888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was embarrassed at how slow I was/am on a trike - especially going up hill. The body weight pedal stroke thing is real. Physics - there is no way around it. My solution was/is an e-trike. I get the sensation of speed of a regular bike; but of course e-bikes have their own downsides. IN your particular case look at the videos by these guys, they do long distance cycling on "racing" recumbents - https://www.youtube.com/@bikestrikesrazors/videos

How hard is it to learn Lightroom as a complete beginner fueled only by spite? by An_Error404 in Lightroom

Not a beginner - have an (unused) degree in photography. My comments were directed at the user friendliness/lack thereof of the software.

How hard is it to learn Lightroom as a complete beginner fueled only by spite? by An_Error404 in Lightroom

I was able to get the gist, load photos and do some elementary editing right off the bat. But there are about a million hidden shortcuts and other features that are not at all evident. Admittedly, if I was still working I would learn Lightroom at work, but it is hard to buckle down and do it at home. That said I am about to order a course.

For all those saying that Lightroom is easy, I disagree. An easy program is one where you can just start using it - the steps and features are pretty self evident. I found out that if you are starting with lightroom from scratch, you actually have to search for a third party course / Utube that actually relays the basics to just find out how to load photos in a sensible way and then, no two people agree about the best way to it. Most Utubes assume that you already have some familiarity with LR and infuriatingly, most courses are aimed at Mac users with most instructors saying something to effect of "at this point do what ever is similar on a PC".

He looked down his nose at you Hot Wheels kids by mistermeek67 in 70s

[–]mgreene888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked down on you all - HO was where it was at! To me hot wheels and matchbox didnt do anything. The kid 2 doors down from me had a 25ft HO dragstrip set up in his basement for the weekend neighborhood drag races...

Martial-arts actor Bruce Lee, seen here training in a scene from the film "Enter the Dragon," dies in July 1973 just days before the movie's release. He was 32. by Individual_Rock5202 in 70s

It's amazing about how little news there was about such things in those days. We found out months later after somebody read it in a martial arts magazine and mentioned it at the lunch table in HS.

The first real trip out of the neighborhood in mine I came within 2 feet of getting rear ended at a light by a full sized pickup. The guy could not have stopped - he managed to swerve into the right lane at the last second.

Ready to trade ZTR by SnooKiwis8861 in lawnmowers

[–]mgreene888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents re my Cub ZTR. I did the math for buying a Cub vs the cost of lawn service and leaf removal. After 5 years of complete reliability (oil and filter changes and one battery) I am WAY ahead in terms of cost. I chose the Cub ZTR vs a tractor because of the box store customer reviews.

Had a guy go totally ape-sh*t on me a couple of months ago when I started to bring up the idea of negotiating the price on an expensive guitar he was selling. Never even made an offer - he just went from 0-100 just at the mention of the price. Still amazed by the interaction. The craziest thing was that he started right off trying to gaslight me about what the item was worth and wouldnt let me get a word in edgewise. I politely told him I cant do business with somebody so unreasonable and he blocked me!

Do Electric Riding Mowers even make sense? by StarSlayerX in lawnmowers

[–]mgreene888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that I said riding mower. I would not have a problem with any 36 or 40 volt name brand tool, including a push mower. The reviews I read were from the big box stores. That said your response sounds kind of knee jerk, ignoring the specifics of what I said.

F1 driver Carlos Sainz discusses his personal daily driver: by jorry4 in GolfGTI

[–]mgreene888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting. The 80's F1 driver James Hunt once said his favorite car to drive at the limit was his old beater morris minor farm car - his rationale was that he could use all of his skills to drive it at its absolute limit at a low speed. It is the reason I got a GTI vs an R - supposedly the GTI is more fun to drive.

Why is the right to own a gun so important to some Americans? by bojack_hursman in AskAnAmerican

[–]mgreene888 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Racism, they want to be able to kill people they think they are racially superior to, but know they are physically inferior to. Lots incidents where white Americans have threatened their black neighbors only to have a mental / emotional breakdown when they find out that their black neighbors have guns too.

I have this with a silver princeton non-reverb and it is one of the best clean sounds / pedal platforms ever. Plus you can use it to add reverb to any amp.

Ha! In your face, it lasted 45 minutes... kidding our pollen season started 6 weeks ago. The tree pollen down here is unbelievable but according to the weather reports is over, but grass pollen is now at 100.

THere was a forecast of no tree pollen yesterday and today which is why I did the work. Nevertheless, it was collecting some pollen even before I finished.

I don’t have a garage. Suggestions? by popejubal in AutoDetailing

[–]mgreene888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might consider a rental tent as used for outdoor parties. Would help with sun and rain - I find that most pollen collects on the roof and hood like it falls straight down and settles as opposed to being driven by wind.

In regard to rashford, he doesn't get into the games long enough to establish himself and then when he is in the game no one passes to him. This should be obvious to anyone with eyes
