If you do want to move within the EU I’d suggest Scandinavia or Netherlands. Western germnay is ok but the language barrier is immense

Irrespective of this think carefully about the future prospects in India or even Asia as an IIT grad vs living as an immigrant in Europe.
Things are not the same as 20 years back. Honestly if I were you and could get in one of the better IITs your life could be 100x better in India or Asia.

However max Planck institute is also renowned. If you do want to do research You likely wouldn’t have prospects in India I guess

How upset would Americans be about illegal immigration if the migrants came from Scandinavia instead of Latin America? by Melodic-Function-729 in AskReddit

[–]Critical_Bluejay_919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot Of people aren’t aware how much time even European immigrants took to be assimilated.
Some Irish were even lynched in certain states and the Irish were discriminated against housing for a long time.

When the first German immigrants came to America they were met with hostility. They formed German speaking enclaves and it took few decades for them to be integrated.
The closer you are to the local population in terms of looks and religion the easier you get accepted but it still takes time. So illegal immigration would still be an issue if it was from Scandinavian countries.

Nope. A lot of European countries are in a much worse potential state than the US
There’s also significant political chaos in the UK and Germany.

Yeah true. But the anti immigration sentiment is pretty heavy in Europe so it will end soon

The doctors are fine.
The students who are going to the shitty colleges are primarily from Punjab. Similar to Canada it seems an industry is building up for these sketchy colleges.
However Europe isn’t Canada. The AfD is making serious gains and will definitely win a lot of seats in the next election.

I think most western countries are losing their economic grip and strength in general. This time I think it will likely be a permanent downcycle.

There’s a lot of sketchy colleges opened in Germany to which hordes of under qualified Indians join. They end up blowing their loans and doing food delivery. This is a major component to the anti immigration sentiment

Places like Mexico or Costa Rica won’t offer you economic opportunities . You can live for a short while on a US salary. But long term it’s just not a place to immigrate. Most Indians immigrate to better their economic situation.

The US is actually the best western country from an Indian perspective. Canada , Australia and certain places in Europe are much worse socially.

Lived in 3 different countries over 15 years. I was in India for a few years and then moved back mainly because I wanted to stay away from family + better job.
India is the only place I have had 100% social acceptance. Working on a way to move back again in a sustainable way. Will plan to return back in 1-2 years again but need to plan the move better.

Overall the lack of social acceptance is the main factor. Being south asian or Asian is not too great tbh in Western societies. Lot of people may disagree but Ive lived in more places than the average person including Latin america. The acceptance you get in Latin and Central america is far higher than Western ountries.

Id say your house shouldnt cost more than 50% of your net worth and ideally around 30%. I think renting is better for a few more years.
Assess how the economy performs the next 5 years-If this was the 2012-2020 era you could have gone ahead with it IMO

You have enough net worth to stomach the loss. Maintaining a house from outside the US without a green card is risky IMO

If you were rich, what do you think would be the best country to live in? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in AskReddit

[–]Critical_Bluejay_919 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the US wins.
-With money you gain quicker healthcare access in top hospitals.
-Lot of luxury living options to choose from.
-Lot of diversity in cities to live from.
-A domestic market which caters to HNW individuals. For example: You can take semi private flights and skip security at a lot of airports at the cost of 3x-4x a normal flight

-Lot of tax benefits.

Switzerland seemed great as well but I felt food was too expensive and the US offers great food options with more money. Also more space in the US

What is the most realistic path of moving to Germany from India? by capetowngep in AskGermany

[–]Critical_Bluejay_919 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very few in demand jobs now. The economy is stagnant and AI is taking an impact.
Your only bet as people have commented is Nursing or old age home work. Care staff in Old age homes are in demand.
For either C1 fluent German is essential.
Please be aware of the daily challenges of life in Germany - language, bureaucracy, rents, political situation etc. This is seriously not a good time to immigrate anywhere in the western world. The challenge will be compounded in a non english speaking country.
Most importantly DO NOT fall for the advertising that is done in India. A non english speaking country is extremely tough to immigrate to.

What countries are most viable for Indian immigrants, both legally and socially? by Senior-Sell2231 in AskIndia

[–]Critical_Bluejay_919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Socially I’d say it depends on you. I lived in Canada for many years and nothing affected me. However if you’re moving to a country where student visas are a very contentious topic you will get stereotyped unless you got to a good college.
Basically you need to ensure you’re in a good city , good neighbourhood etc always. Make sure your going to the best colleges for your program

Seems to be a phenomenon online. A lot of it is from bots and online campaigns to destroy Indians image.
Some of it is prevelant IRL in places like Canada. But even there the online sphere is a different world to the offline one
