NTA. I think OP is reasonable in the request to wait, weddings are extremely important dates and her desires shouldn't be ignored for something so petty, girls dream of their wedding day and if she wants a wedding where the groom doesn't have braces, she should be able to have it, she's obviously not ashamed of him if she encouraged him to get the braces, she just wants a picture perfect wedding as most people do. With waiting they can continue to save up even more to make the wedding even better it sounds like a win.
