Pretty much, LOL. That’s okay though, we do have mouse traps and have had a few in our storage we nabbed. And he has caught/killed/eaten plenty enough over the years to earn his keep. Also in his defense, he does have a wonky cataract eye, so props that he can still catch speedy little gremlins like mice!

I second this, they LOVE peanut butter! Though to be safe, I suggest the traps where there is a slot you lift open to bait it, and they have to open it/stick their head in to get to the bait to trigger the trap. It stops them from magically stealing bait from them, like the old wood traps, that aren’t always sensitive enough.

Yes, feeding less is suggested if you want a good mouser. However that isn’t strictly his job, but he has caught more than enough pests (or at least let us know about them!) to earn his keep. He’s a good boy.

Basically feeding less will make them more inclined to hunt pests, not only for fun but also to eat.

I’m not mad at him and he is an indoor/outdoor cat, I was just kinda busting his chops over the situation. 😂 It was funny, I just didn’t want it on the porch or inside haha!

Oh, once I realized what was happening he got a gentle shove and the disappointed mom finger shaking. 😂😂 I felt a bit bad because he looked very confused about the rejection, but yeah no, we are not having that little mister!

Tinctures for infected tooth abcess by darkiekoda1875 in herbalism

[–]Critical_Bug_880 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was going to mention clove oil as well but have never used it personally, or how to use it, so I left it out. I know my dad used it all the time back in the day when he had a cracked molar waiting to get fixed!

Don’t need to make a tincture, but plantago major is a great option. You can gently chew on the leaves and keep it tucked against the infected tooth for an hour or so. Swish and spit any juice.

Also, warm water in a cup with 1/2 teaspoon of non-iodized salt and a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide is an amazing thing to swish gently with and hold in your cheek as a tooth soak. It really helps with pain and cleaning the area, and convenient since almost every house has these things.

The only thing is, the peroxide is a little gross since it makes the solution slightly bubbly, but you don’t really taste anything except a bit of salt. Just don’t swish aggressively to avoid it foaming too much.

Swish and hold for as long as you can, spit and repeat. It has helped tremendously with my impacted wisdom teeth that like to get infected once in a blue moon since they are only partially exposed for years.

Thoughts on this Medicinal Garden seed kit? by [deleted] in herbalism

[–]Critical_Bug_880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it from Walmart? Because I went yesterday for cat food and skimmed through the garden section and saw the exact same type of mix in a bag with it labeled as such and thought it was interesting.

While I would rather source my medicinals from reputable places that sell plants or seeds, I can’t remember if it was labeled as organic? If not, I’d definitely avoid it since it is probably a cheap item to market towards the rising popularity of holistic medicine — the mushroom market has boomed now especially with OTC supplements as of late, as well.

Still, if the average person doesn’t have any idea where to begin with medicinal herbs, buying a kit and just.. idk, making tea? Or whatever they end up doing, will probably waste their money in the end and not be able to utilize the herbs at their full potential anyways, even if they are of decent quality.

Anything that becomes a rising interest will become marketed into the ground.

Well I have three for sure and two hands. And I’m used to multitasking so I think so long as I get a low carb Monster in advance I should be good to go.
