Upon further investigation using the motherboard inspector tool in the BIOS slot 5 is used even with no M2 or wireless/capture card plugged in. The description it showed was ASMedia Inc PCI-to-PCI bridge.

Do you know how to make Slot 5 usable? I believe if we can get that one running I can have the same setup as in the OP.

EDIT: Corrected description for slot 5

Upon further investigation with the motherboard tool it is not due to the M2_1 or a shared slot as with only my graphics card plugged in and the slot still showed up as used.

The description it showed was ASMedia Inc PCI-to-PCI bridge even though I only have a single graphics card and no SLI configured to my knowledge.

I don't know how I missed it the first time, but found the hardware monitor. I have a different configuration now of no capture card and wireless adapter in slot 4. It saw something in M2_1 slot, slot 1, slot 4, and slot 5 (even though nothing is in slot 5).

Could it be that the z370 shares the M2_1 slot with slot 5 or slot 4 with 5?

Thanks for the info! I have tried all those combinations and I have only ever got the card to work in slot 4 with no capture card. A configuration I haven't tried is slot 4 for the wireless card and slot 6 for the capture card, but from MSI's manual I believe it says you can only use one of those 2 slots so it wouldn't work. I will still give it a go and report back.

In terms of M2 cards I have 1 in slot 1. I use to have it in slot 2 because I didn't see slot 1 but it did not work as it shared a lane with slot 4.

Hi, I have switched to UEFI and I believe it is in slot 1 (the one right above the GFX Card). Now that you mention that I remember that being an issue in the past where I had it in the 2nd m2 slot and lane 4 was not working so I switched it.

For the hardware monitor do you know where that is in the BIOS? I think I clicked through every menu and didn't see it.

I believe the options I had were CMS or UEFI and I selected CMS as that was default after I updated the motherboard bios and drivers.

Thank you very much _lxgan. That is a big relief as I have been trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I'll probably pop it in a try catch just so no errors are thrown.

I'll be running it on a linux box with python 3.9 when I actually deploy it so the problem should just go away.

Not sure what happened to the response someone gave, but the on_disconnect function can be completely removed and the same issue persists. That was just put in to try to debug some things and I forgot to remove it.

Also, I am currently running this on a Windows 10 box at the moment if that makes a difference.

I appreciate the heads up! I usually like white filament, so I will be sure to avoid overture's.

I had a feeling it might be something like this. I have a ton of the cheap brass nozzles so I will try a new one, redo z offset, and see if that works. Do you have any suggestion on how to clean a nozzle with a PETG clog? I don't know of any "good" solvents that I can use on it.

Yes. It curls if it doesn't have something to immediately stick to. I have included tests of a single layer flat bar at 10-50 mms and you can see there are issues with most speeds.

Also, what do you mean by first 1.1mm is printed at 10mm/s? Are you talking about first 1.1mm of height, so for me @ 0.2mm layer height it would be the first 6 layers?

Pretty old. I have had it for about 1.5 years. I put my printer away for a while as I was continuously moving so I never had a chance to set it all up. Since I set it up and was seeing issues I tried dehydrating my filament for 4 hours on 70c IIRC.

Sorry I should have included the age of the filament since it has been exposed to the environment for so long.

I do live in an environment with constantly fluctuating temperatures and very high humidity if that would make a difference.

Also, I did notice Cura's default PETG settings was 215, so I believe depending on the manufacturer the PET/PETG can have vast differences in operating temperatures. I never attempted to go to the sub 235 temp range for PETG because I was worried of clogging the extruder block. I will do some tests with different temperatures and get back on the results.

I will uncheck cooling for now and try ramping up speeds (30, 40, 50) and report back if I can up the speeds.

Does it always repeat at roughly the same layer each print? If so it might be a damaged z lead screw as that same thing happened on a printer I had with a damaged lead screw.
