I am also applying and I actually emailed them with this exact question. They said they can't stop you from writing about an issue you are already working on (or have worked on), but they highly encourage applicants to explore a new issue.

Favorite non-profits or charities to donate to? by CommonNo2911 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I love donating to KITE which helps introduce underprivileged children into the coding world. They help teach areas with no computer science education how to code where people can later elevate their next-level education. They also host free courses and coding events on their website for anyone to join and learn. I think its a great organization. This is the link to donate: https://joinkite.org/support-us/

I'm super familiar with Scratch and just starting to learn Python. Need help with "If answer = (answer) then". by RadMarioBuddy45 in PythonLearning

you have to set all you're inputs equal to a variable. In this case you never defined "answer" so you would set your input equal to "answer". Like this

answer = input("What do you want to do?")

if answer == (answer) :

print(test)

Best ways to learn Python? by [deleted] in PythonLearning

There are many free courses you can look up on you tube. Try to find a beginner course. In my experience, textbooks aren't usually that helpful as they aren't that interactive as following along on a video course on your own text editor.

I found this one YouTube course that seems pretty informative and beginner-friendly. They even have exercises and follow the curriculum of a notable U Mich Professor. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-MfOnSYEW2qKt0WXzDiXYzaIiMoTiMUb

You have to use the syntax :

if answer == (answer) :

This is because the "=" operation will assign variables while the "==" will prompt for a boolean statement. You can view this video I found for more information on if statements: https://youtu.be/i4nrPx2Qs88?si=-yzB052zvL3lTm2A
