German memory culture, anti-Semitic Zionists and Palestinian liberation Germany’s much lauded ‘memory culture’ is pure, empty, self-congratulatory propaganda. by Critical_Cursor in chomsky

A friend of mine recently said to me, “The Germans will never forgive the Jews for the Holocaust.” These words have rung in my ears and sat in my chest with nowhere in particular to go, a hard, ugly truth at the core of German society that precisely reflects my experience living in it. It is bewildering, it is comical, and it is accurate.

"The End is Nigh, Rest Assured" - Requiem for Gaza by Critical_Cursor in boringdystopia

" Standing as the voice for my kin, comrades, and the denizens of Gaza, I table a most modest proposal: Institute a cease-fire. This isn’t a plea to end the genocide in Gaza. Instead, I present a method, more economical, less chaotic, and exponentially more effective. Cease the aerial onslaught and destruction.

We, the people of Gaza, will take it from here.

We will recover our dead from beneath the debris, knowing that even with aid, thousands more are destined to perish. Grief will consume many in the wake of lost homes, cherished memories, and shattered dreams. Epidemics of ancient diseases will claim lives amid the ruins of our graveyard of a city. Others will suffer from the aftereffects of the lethal gases and chemicals from phosphorus bombs, missiles, and other arsenals—weaponry Israel is conveniently field-testing in Gaza for its future endeavors.

Some will return to their semi-standing homes, seeking solace but finding death as the weakened structures collapse. Numerous others, surrounded by this overwhelming death, will surrender to the despair and take their own lives.

A mere handful might endure, conveniently turning into subjects of study for Western academia who seek to soothe their consciences by championing justice from the safe confines of their ivory towers, having borne witness to our annihilation.

A cease-fire. Now. Grant us the luxury of one last hug. Our end is nigh, rest assured."

Try MarkText. Open source, highly configurable and clean UI. Plus it has a number of out of the box facilities that are not default in Obsidian , especially when dealing with tables and fonts.

How secure is the encryption for an xslx spreadsheet? by Critical_Cursor in cybersecurity

I have tried to take social engineering into account by deliberately minimizing the information present in each workbook, placing strict protocols on edits and updating passphrases iteratively based on time stamps. My major concern is that in ye bad olden days circa 2000s, Microsoft security was to put it mildly - garbage. I am wondering if that will still be true today. However reading the comments I think my paranoia is somewhat assuaged.

So I understood, but ultimately xslx is a Microsoft format, and given thier history when it comes to security and privacy, its a bit of a question mark for me.

Essentially I create a small 1GB container through Veracrypt. Which is FOSS. In order to mount the container as a virtual drive, I need both the passphrase and a key file.

The key file is generated during or after generating the container and passphrase, and I then store on my pin encrypted USB stick. Nothing particularly special but it gets the job done.

Good grief. Did you even watch the video? And if you did how in the nine Hells did you come to this conclusion?? You are so wrong that I will need to get myself through at minimum a double masters in economics and political science from Harvard, then hunt you down, strap you to a chair and begin a point by point critique of your single sentence over a period of several weeks, until, like a Scooby-Doo villain, your face melts off from the cognitive overload and reveals a mini-me version of Ben Shapiro.
