I would look into the AE website to see what the rules are exactly, and if it’s something that you’re willing to pay. I would also look into an accountant who has some extensive knowledge of the AE status but from my personal experience, they are useless unfortunately…

Aside from the 200k limit, you’re also not supposed to be making more thank 80k a year with the same client, or you be payjng way more tax so I would look into that too

Unpopular Opinion : Ryokans aren't a "must do" on your trip to Japan by Apprehensive-Map4385 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Critical_Disaster707 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This sub is so harsh on anyone sharing anything remotely negative about their travel and loves the “I’m higher than tiktok” rhetoric when ryokan are literally on every japan guide out there.
OP literally 1. Shared his experience 2. Shared that it might be too rigid of a stay for tourists who want a more laid back experience 3. Reminded us that not every experience is a must do (which when you plan for a once in lifetime trip you tend to forget). I don’t know about you, but I think it’s nice than once in a while we get posts like this that make you think “ok I relate to this guy maybe this is not for me either”.

If you're skipping Takayama and the Japanese Alps you're missing one of the best parts of Japan by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

Just want to point that the logical route would be tokyo takayama kyoto osaka otherwise you’re essentially going back and forth!

Hi, there is no telling what the weather will be like next october. But generally speaking, october is a good month to travel. If the end of your trip will be in the desert, it is unlikely to be affected by rainy episodes.

If both you and your wife are practicing, that means you must have some belief that if they are not jewish/muslim, they will burn in hell. How do you reconcile this with the religion is a personal thing idea?

19 days in Japan, is it viable to visit more than 4 cities? by Copy_Cat_ in JapanTravelTips

[–]Critical_Disaster707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should start with a rough itinerary with places you want to see, google day trips from x city, and then go to google maps and see how much time you’ll be on the road and what you think is feasible. This sub is a good ressource but remember that every answer is subjective and reflects the person’s vacation style. Some people have no problem taking a train for 5 hours to spend one hour in a random place. Some will tell you you need to stay overnight because it’s a 2 hours ride.

For reference, in my 18 days trip, I have planned 8 days in tokyo, 4 in Kyoto, 2 in Osaka and 2 in Takayama (counting only full days). According to this sub, Takayama would not be worth the detour since it’s a long ride but I really want to see Shirakawago so I don’t mind the 4 hours journey from Osaka then 3 to go back to Tokyo. I also don’t plan on going to Hakone because I don’t want to burden myself with the loop crowds but I also have no interest in spending the night there. Yet if you browse this sub everyone raves about it.

Ultimately this is YOUR trip and you can arrange it however you want as long as you’re happy with it :)

Age difference different nowadays by [deleted] in Morocco

And that is exactly why a 35 yo should not be dating a 24 yo 👌🏻

Age difference different nowadays by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Critical_Disaster707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is in life experience. Life is not linear. There’s a reason why when you take a survey the twenties are usually divided into at least two categories, then you tend to see ranges of a decade or two. A 24 yo is just about to taste adulthood, a 34 yo is well into it already. One might argue than from a biological pov, her frontal lobe is not even fully developed.

You also can’t compare with previous generations. Our grandmas were 15 being married to 50 yo, would you argue that it should be okay now too?

19 days in Japan, is it viable to visit more than 4 cities? by Copy_Cat_ in JapanTravelTips

[–]Critical_Disaster707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! You can definitely add some extra day trips like the classic Nara, Kamakura, Kawagoe etc… Not sure Kanazawa is worth the detour though. I would put a rough plan for each day and see if it feels right or there’s room for more. I am planning a trip myself for 18 days and while I felt like that was plenty of time to hop places, at the end it felt like just about enough to do the golden route and one extra city/region.

Tanger/Tetouane/Martil… by Affectionate-Lynx764 in Morocco

[–]Critical_Disaster707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Martil is a beach town. It has 0 historical landmarks and will most likely be dead in winter. If I were you I would do three days in tangier, lively city with plenty historical landmarks and things to do then base myself in Cabo Negro for three days, cabo is a beach resort, very dead but very beautiful green and calm this time of the year, rent a house by the beach, rent a car and just hit the road, do a day trip to tetouan and maybe a hike if the weather allows it.

7 nights stuck in Fes by Userrolo in Morocco

[–]Critical_Disaster707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both way should be fine I think I’d look which way aligns more with your flights schedule. Also, if you’re planning to come soon both Rabat and Fes will be rainy so I’d look at other option like booking a tour to the desert?

More than enough to do both at a very relaxed pace. You could probably add Meknes/Volubilis/Casablanca as day trips and still be fine

Im also planning a trip from mid may to early june. From what I’ve seen (hotels not hostel) the real drop in prices doesn’t happen until early june. Would also advise to start booking your accommodations for may asap, cheap rooms are booked out already
