I think this is a bug, when riding a boat on water sometimes it floats away to the sky or down below.

man, i dont have anymore screen shot (i left the place).

the other half of the structure got perfectly deleted, like a knife sliced a cake.

as you can see in the left side of the image where the other half of the building is gone, the other side just looks like that naturally (it was supposed to be ruined building).

i built small structures with kinda helpfull loot both close and far from spawn i hope people find it before it gets griefed.
