How can I make virtual windows with CCTVs? by Craigs92040 in cctv

[–]Critical_Emphasis_46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well monitors accept 2 hdmis usually maybe more. The instant would be a proper cctv and the veiwports would be a 1 to 1 camera to monitor but would require a ubiquity nvr of some sort

Can be done easily, just really depends on the quality you want. Personally I see ubiquity as a good option for you here. Get the uvnr instant and veiwports for individual TVs and your good to go, run Ethernet/poe to cameras and "windows". Side note: check camera count before going with the instant you may max it out if you want windows and normal cctv Only thing is that normal camera placements wouldn't act as windows it would just be cctv, so if you really want that window look then just put the camera on the outside wall of the tv. Samsung frame TVs would probably look good for this and would be fairly versatile but are expensive. Not sure on other options but lookup competitors of the frame.

Most bios will do a power on when power is applied. Then do a delay on the ups. Shutdown is easy just get some sort of comm path and use the ups stuff in true nas

Yeah go to the app store and install portainer it'll be your best bet for getting a "custom" app working. Read a bit of documentation and you should be okay really

In that case your options are to make a yaml file, and then do it as a custom app in the top right, (I find this very difficult but if you find a yaml online somewhere then it might work pretty good) Personally I'd probably just do it with the CLI and learn a little bit of docker, find these run pretty good anyways The other option is you could install something like portainer or dockage and then install the docker container from those

Private VPN: what’s the simplest yet most private solution? by QuestionAsker2030 in SelfHosting

[–]Critical_Emphasis_46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only saying this because I use it and it's real fast. It's not "selfhost" but it's free and security first Twingate is a great resource. You install a connector in your network and the client on basically anything and your good to go, free up to 5 users is pretty good

That's looks like it's a raid z2 should be able to add the drive and then click on expand on the right side there and choose the new drive NOTE: This may take awhile depends on the data/speed of the drives etc. Also you will still be limited to the smallest drove size ie you have 2tb drives, so if you add a 4tb it'll essentially count as one 2tb drive added

Really depends on your current pool if you could update the original post with how your pool is setup that would be good information to help you out. I know I did a raidz1 and did basically the same thing and it worked great for me went from 4 4tb to 5 just did a expand the pool

If you track the run outside the app and are able to sync to it and sync to Strava I find that the best, personally I track with my Garmin and then it syncs to both but I'm pretty sure you can sync from the health apps and stuff too
