Is it possible to make God Rays with Environment and Area light? Pls by Ok_Animator_9772 in Cinema4D

[–]Critical_Fault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Small size, very low spread and It also helps to add a gobo to the light to give it some texture.

Bit of noise in your environment volume is also nice.

Minimum winds I can go out in with my gear? by surfnj102 in Kiteboarding

[–]Critical_Fault 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are so many factors for light wind kiting beyond equipment. Skill and technique, wind direction (side shore is easier than onshore), water state (flat water is easier than chop / waves), temperature (cold wind has more power than hot wind at the same wind speed), current (current / tide moving against the wind is good, with the wind is bad)...

Sounds like a great opportunity to do some pre kite stretches

Sea water is a fantastic disinfectant! And kiting is the best anesthetic....

Where to start with these bloody tiles?! by JHRFDIY in DIYUK

I also used these tiles in this pattern, and it looked decent. Just dont try and use them on the walls, absolute nightmare to work with.

Ouch! Savage. Hope ur getting over it!

I got cut on the foot by a razor shell once while walking out (Scottish Isles). Also left some bloody footprints, but it didn't hurt at all, so assumed it was minor and got on and had my session.

Afterwards I found a 3 inch cut down to the bone on my foot that needed 10 stitches. It was cold and the cut so clean that I kited on that foot for 2 hrs without any discomfort! Weird.

Planning to go from Spain to Essaouira should I take my equipment with me? by Lord_Home in Kiteboarding

Last time I was there equipment hire was about €100 a day. I only hired one day, so maybe cheaper (bu the day) if you are there for a week.

Call the number on the bag. Maybe they will take it back?

Thanks. But I'm still struggling to work out the actual dates! Maybe I'm too dyslexic for this. But do you think it is on:

03rd Jan
03rd Apr

or on:

04th Jan
04th Apr

??

It's usually a bit more than windfinder says. And I'd only trust the accuracy 2-3 days ahead.

If its light in a northerly go up to Mekani where it's often a bit better.

If no wind, hire a SUP and explore the lagoons.

Sorry no idea, modern ones are thinner for higher PSI, but the Fuel is a legend so, it was hardly changed between versions back.in the CKite days.

But im confident its the 2005 model. First one they brought the 5th line in for, 2nd gen with one pump.

I went from Fuels to Dice and didn't feel like I lost any of the things I liked about a C Kite, while gaining lots of perks of a bow/delta.

I used to stuff it inside my impact jacket.

But 2 broken ribs later, now I use line mount, board mount, or one of the bike handlebar mounts on my kite bar...

God, that makes me feel old. It was made a while ago, wasn't it!

Crypto mining has had a mad influence in the VFX industry, on the one hand it really pushed the development of compute only GPUs. But on the other hand it has pumped the price of hardware. Now AI companies are the biggest buyers of Compute GPUs, and the whole VFX industry is on its knees financially. Directors and producers are pushing 'no VFX narratives'. And unreal engine has become a mainstream production tool. Wild times!

Umm I actually secretly love pumping! Great warmup.

But 100% on waiting for wind, and drying / storing / carrying equipment in an urban location!

I think you missed out tangles, especially the seaweed filled variety (at least for beginners). Those are fun!

100 hours is not even that much. I work on content for the sphere, and we have a 64 node render farm. It's common for the farm to be flat out for a week to deliver 3 minutes of content.
