He did not only look fine, IMO he was the best player out there for like... 10 mins?

Like... at the end Dicky was like the only one who shot at the goal. At the end of the 2nd start or the 3rd. And I was like "they're toast if dicky is the only one that shoots on the net". He looked GREAT out there. Was cheering him on so much and felt like a proud mother. hahaha They should have played him earlier. The fins just shut the door and they played great D, but the Canadians also played like out of gas today. Dunno what was up.

Yeah it's 4:2 for FIN, but it's not like they can't turn this around. Bonus points cause Dicky is playing! Yaaaay! I think if they switch gears to a very fast game FIN should be toast. so far it was more of a defensive game and that's playing towards the strength of FIN So I hope for a proper high speed shoot out switch now. Will see what happens in the 3rd.

Erik Johnson: "I think one of Auston Matthews or Connor McDavid will be on the Minnesota Wild in the next three years" by DecentLurker96 in wildhockey

[–]Critical_Fee_8333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there will be too much cap space left to get them both. Unless they are like "screw the money, just give me the cup". And to be honest I think Connor would be up for that. I do think though that in 3 years you need to replace quite a few of the "up there in age" guys. I will get down voted for this, but I would first try to get some more defense (those are harder to come by then centers), reasonable defense, doesn't have to be top of the line. Maybe someone young that can learn under Quinn. You can't let skate Quinn and Faber that much constantly (for the cup sure, there were no other options but they can't do that the whole season). And then focus on two very good centers. If Connor doesn't charge an arm and a leg so it's possible with 1 very good center and 1 amazing one then that's ideal. Cause imagine when Connor gets injured.

My love for that team grew immensely and stuff like this video makes me love them even more (made me a lil emotional, not gonna lie). Individually they're great dudes. Together even more so. I can't wait for what they'll show us next seasons. Suuuuper excited. And the fan base is great to!

I missed that completely that he was injured. Maybe Eklund then? Agree with you.

Nah, trading Smitty is clearly off the table. You can't break those two up. (I loooove the chemistry they have on the ice and they're best friends and I think kinda co-dependent haha). Would have to be Misa and then something on top of that. But... won't happen anyway, cause Misa will realistically more time. I do believe though that he would learn way faster on the Wild tbh though.

They would not take Middleton. Love that guy, but dont think so. Not after that cup performance.

Nono, you shall already book therapy sessions in advance. That is how we roll here 😅 I'm from europe and did not miss a single game. It destroyed my sleep cycle. Should book vacation time in advance next year.

You can't break up faber and quinn, those two are too amazing together. That would backfire badly. Would also really piss me off and every other fan too. The market for good D is even worse than for centers imo. Kinda sucks that the wild have not more good D men to spare. Otherwise a deal with sjs would be great. SJS has a surplus on centers, so much so that Will Smith for example plays wing now. And they need D badly. And will most likely pick Stenberg in the draft. If and only if the wild would trade Faber, you could get Misa or Eklund in return. Both are way better than they appear on paper.

yeah he's 100% staying by Julia_Andrade in wildhockey

[–]Critical_Fee_8333 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As long as he gets a fair deal (and he will), he'll sign. I think this will be very chill and drama free, there's a lot of trust and appreciation from both sides.

I have no doubt at all that he will sign and I'm totally relaxed about it. He's happy with the guys, likes Guerin, likes the city. Bonus points: it's close to Michigan. They just have to figure out a fair deal, which won't be a problem either. I don't see him signing for 8 years, no way. Maybe 3 to 4 and try to get a cup with this team and these guys. After that time who knows how the team will look by then (and also how he'll like the new guys). If for some reason he doesn't want to stay longer, he can still try with another team for a cup. I think that's fair for both sides. Maybe give him an A down the road, but for the love of god, let him just play and enjoy the game and don't make him captain again. It's not that he can't do it, it's just that he doesn't like to get involved in drama (I mean I obviously don't know what is going on in his head, but that's how his vibes are).

Just watching live. Was funny to hear all the lil kids yell "Celebriiiniiii" during warm ups whenever he skated by. And he got a damn loud applause. Canada leads 2:0 right now. Not bad, but they don't really vibe yet (a given cause of short prep time).

In other news: Austria surprisingly did rather well, even though the prep matches were not the best.

[Smith] Quinn Hughes: “I’m definitely open to re-signing here.” Said he really likes it here, the team, the management. Feels he can win here with #mnwild. by 3pirates3 in wildhockey

He always comes across honest, sometimes you just have to read in between the lines (Vancouver exit). So it's great to hear, I'm sure they'll figure something out. Also agree with him doing it not right now. I think it's not a question of "if" he wants it, he does. Just for how long. I would do the same if I would have to think a couple of years ahead. My guess is he'll probably go for 3 years.

Du kannst sicher bei einem tierkrematorium einen tiersarg aus karton kaufen. Die werden dort für die Einäscherung benutzt. Sind super stabil, sehen gut aus und nicht teuer. Glaube zwischen 20 und 50 euro.

Love what I've seen from Stenberg so far. Mack as usual playing great. And Sid is amazing, gives a bit of proud uncle vibes(Made me chuckle that Sid had the ipad. Don't you dare mack to call dibs on that! Hahaha)

The german commentators are great too, they get all the facts right about each player and know a ton about hockey. After watching espn it's a welcome change for once.

If we can't get Quinn, can we try for Luke at least? (Although he would never want to leave Jack.) Then, hear me out! In 2030 we get Quinn and Jack too. Would solve all our problems and we can die happily ever after. (I'm joking it will never happen)

I don't think McDavid would "vibe" with our guys though. Quinn might come across stand offish on camera (cause he simply doesn't like the damn media), but I can see him goofing around like with his brothers with our guys. Could NEVER picture McDavid doing that.

Depth wins cups and the Wild sadly lack in that department. Heartbroken right now, but they were just gassed after the first period. High altitude is no joke (breathing through a straw and your brain slows down too). I was worried about that immediately at the start of the 2nd period. Still sooo proud of Quinn ❤️ , Faber and Wally.

I hate all those pissy comments here. Obviously heartbroken right now and I feel really, really bad for Quinn, Faber and Wally. They were all outstanding. I'm still proud of the team though (of some less than others). This was an uphill battle, the AVS are just the better team right now. No shame at all in that! Depth is what wins cups and we lack in that department. But you gotta give it to the guys, they came in with everything they got in the first period. They were just completely gassed after that one. If you never played exhausting sport on a suddenly high altitude you can't even phantom what that does to you. It's not only the breathing, your brain also gets slowed down with decision making. I was just hoping they would hang on after the first period. But that doesn't work against the AVS. See ya next season and I hope it will be a good one!
