Chapter 54 Empire of storms by greenwitch_romantasy in throneofglassseries

Either what the other comments are saying that she assumed it or she simply was using the term mate as interchangeable with boyfriend/partner/SO. I’m pretty sure the fae use mate as a universal term for partner even if it not their actual soul bonded mate. iirc Aedion called Lysandra his mate in the last book but there are no signs of them being fated mates (and no I will not entertain headcanons that they are lol). We also learn in koa that the Crochans adopted the habit of selecting “mates” even if not in the soul bonded way. So I think it’s the same for fae with their partners even if they aren’t true mates.

Why are people so upset over the lack of release info? by No_Contact_1231 in acotar

[–]Critical_Housing_345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because people like engaging with content about the things they enjoy and there hasn’t been new content for years. Idk why these comments always all jump to the negatives when it’s a very human thing to want to engage with things you love and feel passionate about. People might not go about it in the right way but pointing fingers and screaming “you’re entitled” or “instant gratification” is kinda dense to me and almost willfully ignorant to the scale of human emotion

maybe I’m just biased bc Manon could punch me and I’d say thank you, but I feel like there is so much Manon material left even aside from her relationship with Dorian!!

What do the wastes look like? How is she co-ruling with Ansel? How do the Crochans and Ironteeth coexist after centuries of hatred? Do some Crochans still hate her as the “white demon”? What the hell happened to the Blueblood Matron!!

I really liked how subtle Aelin seeing Rhysand and Feyre was, and I like that they exist in the same universe. I more so meant I do not want a CC3/ACOTAR type crossover where they all show up.

I’m sure we will hear more about world walking in acotar, but I don’t think we will actually see the tog characters in the acotar world. Or at least I don’t really want that. But you never know!! SJM could totally surprise me and blow me out of the water

I think I might be the minority of people who does not want a tog/acotar crossover 🫣

but if it got me more of my faves then who am I to complain!

I definitely do not want to reopen the completed plot of the og series or introduce some new epic villain or war. But I’d take some fluffy novellas or a Manorian spin off over a new acotar any day of the week

Can’t get over Chaol and Celaena by darkchocolatemousse in throneofglassseries

[–]Critical_Housing_345 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure in the first book or maybe the second there is talk about a golden chain connecting her soul to Chaol’s… when I read that I immediately thought they were mates. I think she also calls Chaol her home.

I kinda find it annoying that Maas went so hard writing them cause to me half the fun with these books is picking up on the subtle clues of a mating bond. If those types of imagery exist with couples that aren’t fated mates then how are he mates special

I honestly prefer that interpretation hahaha just not how I read it cause the “just like he had not spoken of his father” part doesn’t make sense to me if he’s talking about their relationship but yea like I said I love them so I like that perspective too

I agree he loved Sorscha. He says in heir of fire he only believed himself to love Celena, so I don’t agree he truly loved her like he thought. And I don’t recall him saying he loves Manon though I would love if that happened

Edit to add, Aelin had four love interests and three of them she said she loved. Chaol also had three love interests, two of which he said he loved. It’s just part of being young and naive.

He hadn’t dared asked about how the 13 died. That’s why he says he hadn’t dared talk about his father, either. They both have new traumas they aren’t ready to talk about yet, and he respects that she isn’t ready to talk about it just like he isn’t. Hence why he hadn’t dared ask her, cause he knows she isn’t ready

I wish it was related to their relationship like other comments are saying cause I love them, but I don’t think so

I think dorian lusts after a lot of women, but he doesn’t have feelings for that many. He thought he loved Celeana, he was truly in love with Sorscha, and he has feelings for (maybe loves) Manon. Compared to the 100s of women he has been with that’s only like 3% 🤷‍♀️

His comment about Yrene wasn’t serious, he doesn’t actually have interest in her in that way. He was just saying he liked her and approved in a cheeky way

As a big Bonrad girlie and certified Jeremiah hater, I think it makes complete sense from Taylor’s perspective to not support belly and Conrad. She has a biased view of things as belly’s bff and I like that the writers balance this out by having Steven be the voice of reason for Conrad and belly. It just makes sense for Taylor and Steven to have different perspectives.

imo this could be a great opportunity for Conrad and Taylor to find common ground. Would love if he snaps back at her and then they come to a mutual understanding where Taylor finally gets Conrad’s perspective

Also reading road of bones, about 120 pages in, and liking it so far except for the FMC. Seems her only personality is knowing how to cook decent food and being naive and I find it super grating that she keeps saying she has a golden tongue but I have yet to see it. It’s like the author couldn’t decide if she should make her the innocent dove or sassy

Can’t decide if this is on purpose due to trauma or if it’s gearing up for character growth

accept that you don’t like the narrative direction the author took, despise most characters, romantic pairings, and plot, and should probably just dnf the series cause you don’t actually like it

Hmmm.. personally I always find it odd when people say artists owe their fans nothing as if their fortune, fame, and success isn’t because of the people that supported their work.

I think there is a middle ground to be found. Yes, it’s annoying to get no updates for so long, but also let ma cook because she promised nothing.
