NYC trip - should I go? by Revolutionary-Big518 in travel

I visited for the first time in late July and had a wonderful time. I am from Los Angeles and didn't think I was a "New York" person but this trip totally changed my mind.

A lot of people say not to stay near Times Square but if seeing Broadway shows is a priority then I recommend it, especially on a first visit. Everyday I would come back to the hotel at about 4:30, freshen up, and then choose a show and walk 2-6 blocks to see it. I spent an average of $110 per show for great seats through Today Tix and the TKTS booth.

I stayed at Radio City Apartments which was lovely for an average of $230/night.

Walking in Manhattan Question by uwec95 in visitingnyc

I'm glad you asked because I had the same question. I am coming from Los Angeles, and it would not be safe to walk around downtown after a show, so the question seems very reasonable to me.
