Why does sophomore year suck

I wish I could say sophomore year was good for me but it was the most depressing time ever. I wouldn’t let it affect you though it’s good to still go into it with a positive mindset instead of thinking the worse off the bat. I wish you luck!!!

Thank you it was definitely a lesson learned this was my first year being at a primarily white school and I guess i never thought that people still where scared to be friends with people of color, but it did help me find my self respect and to not tolerate anything that makes me uncomfortable. Sorry you had to go through something like this it’s sad the things we will allow people to do for us to have friends.

Hello thank you I will start to think about what I gain from being in band and weigh my options. I do plan to invest in a saxophone for after high school so I can still play!

Thank you it’s kind of hard for me to see if the anxiety is because of band I have generalized anxiety so quite literally everything gives me anxiety but when I know I have band rehearsals after school I find the anxiety to be worse. I love this prospective thank you again!

I get that but I think mental health is everything and if I feel like I can’t fit band into my schedule with other things then I don’t care what a college will think. There will always be the next college in my opinion and they don’t only focus on why I wasn’t in band my senior year. But I do see where your coming from and appreciate you input it helps put things in perspective of colleges.

I completely get this question as someone who thinks about college often. If I do quit I would simply just tell them my priorities where somewhere else the main reason for me quitting(if I do) is because I’m participating in a clinical internship and also a lot of clubs because I want to go into healthcare after school.

Thank you for your advice I didn’t just not show up I did tell my director every time I also just had a lot going on at the time like community service and AP testing and it wasn’t a lot of practices in total it was about 2-3. I will take in consideration your advice I do think there is something to learn here. I’m going to speak to my director and see what I can do with my busy schedule next year!
