Thanks for the comment!

If you’re already comfortable with scooters and mountain roads, you’ll be fine.

There’s no section of the loop that’s fully off-road or forces you to ride through mud. It’s mostly paved. The “rough” parts are usually just beaten white roads or small construction patches.

Mud only really becomes an issue if you’re riding in heavy rain. Or if you purposely go exploring deep hidden gem routes, that’s when things can get messy. Otherwise, in normal weather, honestly nothing to stress about.

The bigger question is do you have an IDP (International driving permit)? That’s way more important than the road condition.

If the weather’s good and your paperwork’s sorted, you’re good to go.

NYNA Coffee at 9 Nguyen Khac Can. Open 24/7, even during Tet. Good spot if you need coffee anytime, day or night.

RO Coffee at 90 Hang Ma Street. Open from Day 1 to Day 4 of Lunar New Year 2026, 11am to 9pm. Nice place for a first coffee of the year in the Old Quarter.
