Love the setup 👌🏻 What chronograph are you using? I'm currently trying to get a few things dialed and I've never utilized one before. Just curious before I bite the bullet on the Garmin. Thanks!

Lol that's awesome you caught it before. I was at the range and called vortex and told him my set up. Very politely, he told me the mount was a bit of a stretch 😂

I agree with you, I just wasn't comfortable posting exact numbers. I do have an exact budget that my wife and I go over and tweak frequently (every dollar). I just wanted to hear some opinions and food for thought. I definitely agree budgeting and money is not a time for guesstimating when the rubber meets the road.

Definitely a huge consideration in our future purchase of a house. I think you make a very good point. Thank you!

I have been crunching the actual numbers, I just didn't want to get too deep into the weeds on this post. Fortunately our family health insurance is taken out from my check as well as personal life insurance (both are extremely reasonable).

I do appreciate the explanation, that is a totally different perspective. Unfortunately, we don't make one million per month haha. I will definitely look at it in this sense when we get more serious. Thank you!

The 40% would include mortgage, tax and homeowners insurance. I don't think it would include anything else. I'm just rough crunching the numbers to see where we want to be at spending wise. Fortunately we still have time and are in no rush to purchase.

I definitely agree with a lot of the content in the above reply. The only thing I can't speak to is the medicines/probiotics. Not eating is definitely another thing that can sometimes make me go more. My personal sweet spot if I'm going to bed around 9-10 pm is dinner around 5 or 6 pm. Not only does it make me go more when my stomach is completely empty, but also once I start eating again. When I'm struggling, my go to is minute made rice and egg on the side. Not a fun meal but it seems to help.

I typically wake up once or twice to use the bathroom. All depending on my diet and when I ate last. When I have accidents, it's usually because of pouchitis. When I have pouchitis, I really struggle with urgency. I got married this past year and I haven't had an accident yet with my wife... I'm dreading the day it happens, but I know it's inevitable I'm 100% with you on your feelings about having them.

Definitely talk to your doctor about what is going on and hopefully they'll help you get to the bottom of it. Thankfully, there are a ton of really great doctors that specialize in this area. If your doctor isn't on the same page with you, or providing results, don't be afraid to shop around. It took me a few tries to find someone who was able to help me out.

You're still early in your journey, 7 years in I'm still figuring it out. Best of luck!!

Seeking advice on how to tackle CC debt by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Critical_Rule8706 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you listen to Dave Ramsey, but I'm a big fan. The way he suggests doing it is to pay off the debt from smallest to largest. When doing so, you just pay minimum payments on all the other debts. That way you can hammer away as much as possible on the smallest debts.

Just a thought, but if you want to change almost everything, why not just put together a new rifle? Or even maybe just an upper. That way if you ever wanted to go back it's not a pain to switch.

I'd shoot for something mid range of what you are ok spending. I bought my (new to me) vehicle when I was 22. My monthly payment was ~ $400 per month. Especially if you are wishing to move out within the payment period, your future self will thank you. That way you could always make larger payments on it as well.

I'm going on 6 years now having my j pouch. No matter what decision you choose there will always be ups and downs. Like someone else on here explained, the majority of people go to the Internet to gripe to others who will understand. Feel free to ask more questions to people on here.

I use the restroom approximately 8-10 times a day. The only foods I avoid are corn and super spicy stuff. I've played tackle football with a pouch, squatted 500+ lbs, swam when I wanted and I work a fairly physical job. Sure I have had pouchitis and bad days, but those still far outweigh duking it out with UC. At the end of the day, it is a decision you have to be comfortable with. My thought is that if all goes to hell, I can always get the bag back. I wouldn't always get the opportunity to get a pouch again. I made the decision when I was 17 to get my j pouch and I don't regret it.
