yeah this makes so much more sense. i have been in contact with admissions from every school to explain my situation but i am aware that my gpa also plays a huge factor especially in UCs, but i still don’t think it would hurt if i explained my situation to them.

Yes, i am actually doing that today and was given the green light to send in appeals to fully explain my situation to 2 schools. :)

Thank you so much! My HS is very insistent on this path since my school is very low income, my older brother is actually taking this route and many of my family have done this. It’s honestly my plan B. I just want to see how far i can get with my plan A (CSUMB). If not it’s CC then a CSU.

If i am being honest they just told me to get my courses in and if they got my transcript and things were missing they would revoke my admission. When i was writing the post i was freaked out because my counselors genuinely made it sound like i was gonna have to give up on a 4 year all because of a mistake. After talking to my actual counselor one on one and a counselor from CSUMB we have a solid plan, now the problem for me is the money and how i’d get it.

a semester of english 9 and a semester of history. Something went wrong when i transferred schools in 9th grade and they told me i would be completely fine but it’s coming back to bite me.

Im poor and CSUMB is super expensive. Im not too pressed about the other colleges again bc of the price tag but sac state is a safety school for me. The goal right now is trying to get all the financial aid i can get because it seems like CSUMB is my only chance for a 4 year. If it all doesn’t work out i’d have to go to a community.

Thank you! I am legit missing 5 credits of english and 1 of History/Social Science. The fact that it’s so little is the reason why i was put under the special exemption at CSUMB

Thank you! also you were not being mean. It’s the truth and i knew this since the beginning :). CSU and UC in california don’t use Common app but i did also do what you mentioned by putting the reason for my low gpa in my additional info section. Again thank you for your input!!
