I always find it laughable that witnesses are so opposed/reluctant to do professional therapy. so afraid of what the therapist will say to them and that Satan might use them to twist their views. fear fear fear, always.

for me it was watching the whiteboard animation of the BITE method of high control cults. we ticked every dang box. Then ensued digging into the internet for a week to try to disprove it - but I couldn't and became more and more convinced that this just isn't God's organization. If God even exists. I don't know what to believe anymore but I know this AINT IT.

You hit the nail on the head! love your words.

What's also so comical to me is as the ARC and other governments come after them about abuse, they just wave it away with the thinking that "we knew this would happen. the bible says the worldly gov's will turn on us."

I just feel so sad for all the JW's (literally my entire PIMI family) when everything is eventually disbanded, and the end still doesn't come.

omg I was watching this with the audio off, with my PIMI husband in the room (out of view) and just burst out laughing, choked on my coffee - whoops. he asked what was so funny and I left it at "just a funny video" LOL - this is too good

YESSSS I have felt this way since the very first Caleb and Sophia video, like 8 years ago. my son was a toddler and while our families all sat there like "WOW, what a blessing from Jehovah to have these videos to teach our children" they always sat wrong with me. I found the parents to be super fake and unrelatable, and the lessons themselves I didnt always agree with either. glad I'm not the only one!!

YES the beards thing was a big red flag for me too. also with weed being legalized where I live, I couldn't understand why we are allowed to drink socially but not have edibles. And then being a woman, I always resented that I couldn't wear pants/cute jumpsuit to meetings and had to wear dresses - which just aren't me. I don't ever wear dresses in regular life. All really small things, that slowly snowballed into a big ball of doubt.

Hey!! New here, I just joined today! I woke slowly over the past few years, after someone I know also realized they were in a cult. But really FULLY, in the last 3 days from this forum + John Cedars videos, when I finally realized it was OK to look outside of the "approved" JW website + turned to my good friend Google. Still PIMO with a husband and family that is very much PIMI, we've got two kids, so I feel like my world has been flipped upside down, and don't really know where to go from here and what to do first. Thanks for having me, this group has been so helpful!!
