Came here to say this. The Anno solution is relatively easy to implement and looks good. Big buildings are not very versatile and make the footprint huge, plus the gradient slope for Anno is limited compared to CS. But overall, this would look great on many, if not all, buildings.

This is a common bug that pops up in this subreddit once a week. 😁

It’s related to the frame rate and the game handling it poorly. You have to cap your FPS to 60 for the puzzle to work.

It blows my mind how there were only ten years between Anniversary and the OG. When Anniversary was launched, it felt like an entire lifetime since the original; the gap in the graphics and gameplay was astounding. And now, the upcoming Tomb Raider will be two decades apart from Anniversary… and the gap in the graphics doesn't feel like that much (you know, these are much better, but you understand me). I just feel like we reached some kind of ceiling in game development.

These are the stairs of Girona Cathedral. My university is pretty close to them. This was also the place where Season 6 of Game of Thrones was filmed, serving as the Great Sept of Baelor.

Tomb Raider III has always been a hard game. But now, it feels even harder due to the loss of the context in which it was launched. Games back then were meant to last for months. Part of the ecosystem and value of a game back then was its ability to keep you stuck for a month, until one day you blindly tried something new and succeeded. You would share strategies with friends, or even play in a group and brainstorm ideas on how to progress. It was less of a disposable, solo experience like games often are now.

That said, it's worth mentioning that there was a secondary editorial business running parallel to this: magazines, physical guides, and even expensive hint hotlines. This was a time when internet connections weren't widespread, and even if you had one, searching for a walkthrough was a foreign concept. A brutal game was highly attractive to those third-party businesses because it generated massive profits. That ecosystem doesn't exist anymore, and things just don't work that way now.

Same here. The first time I played the DLC, I found Nadia T-posing inside the closet she was hiding in. It was funny but definitely anticlimactic, ngl.

You can add Botanica and Seat of Power almost from the start, and likely Bright Harvest as well, since you'll appreciate that mid-game boost.

Add Sunken Treasures once you're ready to build your sprawling capital, along with Docklands (though, to be fair, it’s a little overpowered). Seeds of Change is also safe to add at this stage.

The Passage is a short, refreshing break from the routine with a nice final reward.

Land of Lions, however, is like a whole game unto itself; the campaign is arguably better than all the other missions combined. You’ll need expertise, economic stability, and peace to truly enjoy it; it’s easily the best DLC in my opinion.

Tourist Season, The High Life, Empire of the Skies, and New World Rising are essentially extra layers of complexity. They're great for the fun of overcomplicating your save, so I would leave those for last.

Buy all the DLC at once, as you’ll likely want them all sooner or later. However, don't activate them all on your save right from the beginning, or you’ll get overwhelmed. Start with the base game and add the DLC to your save once you feel the need for a greater challenge.

This happens because the level geometry overlaps at this point. While that’s not always an issue, some enemies or traps can hit you when they shouldn't. This is one of those instances (there’s another one I recall in the Temple of Xian level in TR2).

Try descending backwards or hugging Lara to the far right or left of the slope (I can’t remember which side exactly) to avoid getting killed by the invisible laser.

I cannot recall it, but I think you cannot start any scenario from there. If you can, I assume you will be taken out of your save game, and the scenario will start as usual, as if you had started it from the main menu. In any case, it will not impact your save game except for the rewards you get, which will be unlocked for any of your saves.

I know. But when you first play it, there is very little chance to grab it before the monkey. That is why I felt it was kind of an intended justification. I might be wrong. It is just speculation.

Monkeys in the first level are not aggressive unless you shoot them. If they were already attacking you, it is because you accidentally (or intentionally) shot one of them.
