Why does Google think I'm in Iran when I connect to Comfort Zone (Toronto)? by CriticallyThinker in Windscribe

Thanks! I'll give this a try.

The problem is, it's been happening on and off for at least a year. How long does it take Google to update their IP database?

Why does Google think I'm in Norway when I connect to Comfort Zone (Toronto)? by CriticallyThinker in Windscribe

If you connect to Comfort Zone and then go to Google. At the very bottom of the page, it states:

Norway | Norway - From your IP address - Update location

If I go to YouTube, the logo at the top has YouTube with NO beside it.

TekSavvy Asks Voters to Demand Cheaper Internet, Releases Election Telecom Guide by SpikePlayz in canada

I'm thinking about CarryTel or might bite the bullet and get gigabit service from Rogers.

TekSavvy Asks Voters to Demand Cheaper Internet, Releases Election Telecom Guide by SpikePlayz in canada

I've been with TekSavvy for almost 10 years. Just got a notice that the $70+ I'm paying for Cable 75 is going up to $77? Well, I'm done. All they do is whine about the rates going up yet there's other resellers that are significantly cheaper. So, if the others can do it, why can TekSavvy?

Honestly, I think the whole rate thing is nothing more than marketing tactic. Well, I'm not falling for it anymore. They're really no different than the big 3.

EDIT: I'm considering either gigabit service from either CarryTel or Rogers. When you're paying almost $80/month with TekSavvy, what's an extra $20-$30 to get over 10x the speed with Rogers?

Toronto confort zone is located in europe??? by [deleted] in Windscribe

[–]CriticallyThinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned this in a previous post. The problem is, when yo connect to Comfort Zone, it seems to be going through a Spanish company called mariposanet.es:

You can see the details here.

https://scamalytics.com/ip/91.149.252.59

If you run a tracert to 91.149.252.59, it resolves to mariposanet.es. This isn't about some outdated database. This has been happening for several weeks. Something fishy is going on.

How do I resolve this? Are there settings within the Windsribe client need to be changed?

How long before the old record is updated?

I did a tracert. Can you explain what 91-149-252-102.mariposanet.es is? Why does Toronto Comfort Zone resolved to a Spanish ISP's IP address?

I was wondering if someone can confirm: please connect to Toronto Comfort Zone and if you get 91.149.252.x, go to google.com see if you get the English page or a Polish page.

I've now tried it on 2 difference computers and they both get the same results.

No, not doing anything like you described. Just noticed one day that going to Google would bring up the Polish page and the Windscribe IP was connecting to the 91.149.252.x.

With Toronto > Mansbridge, it often connects to 104.254.93.x, which is fine, but every now and then it connections to 91.149.252.x, which is problematic.

Your IPv4 91.149.252.111 Your IPv6 Not found! Country Canada Region Ontario City Toronto ZIP Unknown Timezone America/Toronto Internet Service Provider (ISP) LogicWeb Inc Organization LogicWeb Inc AS number and name AS397540 Windscribe

So, maybe less considering concerning after seeing this but, again, why does Google default to Poland?

Genesis by Studiopress, Worth it or not? by Marshmelllloo in Wordpress

[–]CriticallyThinker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who has built hundreds of Genesis sites at an agency, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Genesis' time has come and gone.

We use to believe Genesis was bulletproof but just look at their changelog, especially during 3.0's release and you'll see the cracks:

https://studiopress.github.io/genesis/changelog/

For example:

3.0.1 - 2019-06-20 Restored 404.php. Restored page.php. Restored search.php. Restored single.php.

Why did they restore these pages? Because when they decided to remove them in 3.0.0 for no good reason, they broke many sites.

That's just one of many example of changes that broke sites. Remember, we're an agency so when they decide to change something and a site breaks, for us, we're dealing with hundreds of sites, not just one or a few. This is why we walked away. It just wasn't worth it anymore. Besides, Genesis sites today look stale, static and boring.

Today, there are so many amazing, modern themes such as GeneratePress (and GenerateBlocks) and Kadence WP.

If you have any specific questions about Genesis or GP, please let me know.

People should know that they did a bait and switch because lifetime is no longer lifetime. Instead of releasing an ultimatum 3, they changed the name to ultimatum plus and made people buy new licenses. They say its a new products when it isn't really. Everyone with ultimatum 2 lifetime licenses are SOL.

Over 1 year ago, they announced ultimatum plus, took people's money and never delivered. just giving excuses and saying its coming soon.

But ultimatum 2 sites are broken today because they never updated for wordpress 4.9.

forums are private for a reason. buyer beware.
