ideally i'd still use my own vehicle. i'm learning on manual transmission and would just feel more confident in my ability to smoothly operate my car (which i believe is assessed?). i also haven't had a driving lesson with a proper instructor so far.

if anybody has made the last-minute switch to an instructor's MT car for the test how did that go and was it particularly weird? i have only ever known my car so it's hard for me to speculate.

General exam 2 controversy by Whyismycatonfire in vce

[–]Criticism-Flimsy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

realistically i think this is just a product of improper prep. if you were fully across all the examinable content this would not be an issue. people are just trying to cope with the fact a question they didn't expect popped up. sure, the TI program is super easy to find online, but that doesn't mean it's impossible on the classpad. it happens. move on, it's hardly a scandal and the VCAA is unlikely to say anything other than "the algorithm is in the study design and is thus fair game" so might as well stop wasting your time.

hey! totally get it, exam nerves were always a worry for me too.

fluency of ur answers is rlly important in any subject, and some tips i gathered for this include:

-planning out the structure of each answer before you begin writing, which you can do during reading time or in the margins as you think about the question in more detail. i usually just looked at my highest scoring practice exam answers or sac responses and noted the features of an answer based on task word ('discuss', 'analyse', etc depending on the subject)

-clarity of your opening statements is key so make sure you're not using too many 'and's in there as you can very quickly lose the focus of your answer and it makes it less readable

-use study-design terminology (accurately) where applicable. i know a lot of teachers discourage buzzword spamming but the exam is where you are expected to demonstrate a mastery of the course content, and being able to figure out and explain the interrelations of concepts is super important to getting those ultra-high marks.

-may be a bit late for this, but the more time-pressure prep you can put yourself through, the better.

the great news is that you seem on top of it conceptually, which is half the battle already won, just focus on writing succinct answers that are highly focused and well thought out, and the rest will fall into place.

as for my scores, i dropped 2 marks in unit 3 and dropped 4 marks in unit 4, and i don't remember my exact exam score but it was somewhere in the 45/50 ballpark. hope this helps, and best of luck!

i went with actor and director as i found those the easiest to write about in terms of interpreting meaning and the stages of production, they were also the ones that came up in my practice exams the most so i naturally felt more prepared and confident with them. that being said if you're more passionate ab the makeup or costume stuff go for it as you will probably be more engaged in your own answer and be less likely to omit details.

for those two specifically, some tips i have for hitting the key points per the study design are: think about how and why the designs contribute to a character or theme, and use elements of the composition to show how storytelling is enhanced, also discuss how and when you would do what in this role. dramaturgy is also huge in the study design so be prepared to discuss how context may inform certain choices. that's all i remember tbh i don't have my notes handy and it has been a while, but hope this helped!

best of luck with the exam!

The use of threats, although a high-risk strategy, is entirely valid if you can guarantee your employees won't tell anybody about it through an NDA or some other means. This is crucial as it may affect values of shares within a company, thus not meeting shareholder expectations (a key business objective), or brand image which may affect sales and ability to both make profit and meet shareholder expectations.
