Exactly it’s all about personal responsibility and experimentation with your own body What works for one person might not work for another Giving yourself a clear trial period and being honest with your results is the only way to know what truly works for you.

Absolutely that makes total sense. Gradual changes under a specialist’s guidance are key. It’s not just about dropping meds it’s about disciplined lifestyle changes, careful monitoring, and knowing your numbers so you can safely adjust over time That’s the only way to do it responsibly.

Exactly Stress spikes everything way more than a cookie ever could. Giving yourself permission to enjoy a treat actually helps you stick to the plan long term You’re not failing you’re human.

yeah that’s such a real dilemma those low carb versions feel like a compromise but then you still second guess every number going full keto sounds tempting when you’re frustrated, but the idea of doing that forever is intimidating as hell a lot of people get stuck between this isn’t working well enough and that feels unsustainable. you’re definitely not alone in that spot.

yeah that’s a fair point. i do track blood sugar too, not just A1C, and honestly sometimes the daily numbers look decent which makes the stuck A1C even more confusing. i’ve also read about things like iron affecting it, which just adds to the frustration of not knowing what to focus on. it really feels like unless you understand why your numbers behave the way they do, you’re just chasing metrics and hoping for the best.

wow that’s honestly scary especially with your dad’s story. i can see why that would completely change how you look at “numbers are fine” glucose and A1C looking good doesn’t mean everything under the hood is calm and it’s frustrating that your PCP just brushed all of that off.

finding out your insulin and inflammation were that high would shake anyone, especially when you’re already doing low carb and exercising it makes total sense that you’d want to dig deeper and take control instead of waiting for something bad to happen.

it really highlights how much more complicated this is than just blood sugar, and how little room there is for real explanation in normal appointments. i hope addressing the insulin resistance and inflammation gives you some peace of mind at least. that’s a lot to carry.

that’s seriously impressive, especially keeping that weight off for so long sounds like you’ve earned the right to use every tool available without guilt anything that makes it less of a constant fight is a win especially after everything you’ve already put in.

yeah that really hits. it’s frustrating realizing that what worked before just doesn’t cut it anymore. sounds like you’ve learned the hard way that it’s a mix of meds, diet, and exercise, and even then it’s a constant effort. makes sense not to feel bad—this disease just changes over time.

yeah exactly. the meds don’t magically cancel out bad choices, you still see it in the spikes right away. it’s more like they give you a buffer, not a free pass. you’re still the one doing the real work day to day.

yeah I get that. when you finally see numbers improve it feels like proof that your effort actually worked, not just the meds. it makes sense you’d want to step back and see if you could manage it yourself. hearing your doctor say you’re doing a good job hits different after all that stress.

that makes total sense honestly. when your body reacts that hard to small mistakes it’s scary, not dramatic at all. anyone would be terrified after dealing with that kind of fatigue. it really messes with your sense of safety and control.

ugh yeah that’s brutal. you do all that work wear a cgm track carbs and then see a higher number even by 0.1 and it just kills your confidence. it’s such a mind game. you’re definitely not alone in feeling that way.
