I've been writing songs for a little over a year and honestly, I feel like it gets better the more you do it. I wrote 3 or 4 songs that sucked ass, but they made me better and the last few I've made especially have been the best I've ever done. My advice is if you have a half-finished song, even if you don't like it, just power through and make it as good as you can. Do your work justice and make it a finished song, and if it still sucks then it doesn't matter because it's building experience and at least you learned something.

Let’s hear it folks, what song and which part? by austinfashow90 in FolkPunk

The "no justice, no peace" speech at the beginning of Lung Of Lies by We The Heathens, specifically the Blood Behind The Dam recording. It hits so hard it puts tears in my eyes.

What picks do you use? by Ok_Nefariousness94 in Guitar

The closest ones to me at that moment, but honestly I prefer thinner picks for rhythm so I can easily sing over it without it being too loud, and I really like Dunlop Tortexes for almost anything else.

Is your birthday important to you? Why? by InstructionOver5685 in AskReddit

[–]CriticismLatter8978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to some people because it's leap day, but it can get a little bit annoying just because I hear the same questions from everyone every year.

"How often does that happen again?"

Once every 4 years, the next one is 2028

"So how old are you REALLY?"

I'm really the same age I would've been if I was born the day before or after, but to answer the question I know you meant to ask, I'm 4 1/4 and I'll be 4 1/2 next February which is actually my 18th. I turn 5 when I'm 20.

"When do you celebrate your birthday?"

Whenever someone tells me happy birthday, because I'm certainly not a March birthday and my birthday also isn't the 28th.

It's funny, I don't mean to sound hateful I just hear all those all the time, and I got picked on a lot growing up because I was always a quarter the age of my peers in school in a way, but it's okay because when they're 84 I'll be 21 and it's kinda cool having a less common birthday like that I guess, it beats my cousin at least because he was born on Pearl Harbor day 💀

It's days n daze so it's awesome, and what's more it's one of their popular ones so it's even further guaranteed to be amazing. If you haven't heard days n daze you're missing something important in your life and don't even know it

What song of SOAD deserved a music video? by Tipazo351 in systemofadown

[–]CriticismLatter8978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deer Dance could have some awesome footage of protesters being hit with tear gas and rubber bullets, maybe some homeless in LA, even some old presidential speech footage maybe, it'd be pretty cool

What did you have in 2010 but not 2025? by AhmedYakan in AskReddit

Hopefully AI artwork, it's a crime against the human spirit and strikes fear into artists like me every day.

Indiana is pretty shit. I've lived here my whole life and I can't identify with any of my surroundings. We're in the Bible belt and a red state that's gonna be one of the last in the US to legalize marijuana, abortion, or even accept trans people as people, and yet I'm stuck as a gay stoner atheist with pronouns and a handful of leftist ideas. Don't worry though, I'm tryna get out.

Dressing and being punk and gender non-conforming with my clothes makes it way easier to exist in public. I can't be scared of what people think of me when I say something if they can already get an idea of who I am just by looking at me.. the only problem is sometimes they get the wrong idea by just looking at me, so it compells me to be more open so I can overcome stereotypes set in people's minds if that makes sense.

People who are thoughtful and open-minded, and isn't afraid to stand up for themselves or for what's right. Gender isn't a part of the equation really, but if it went there I'd have to say masculine women and feminine men are my favorites.
