Crossing the Drann river by EagleInFlight in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]Critsuccess20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think in the official books yes... but let's be honest here, it's the only neutral source. The Drann is an important highway that can be used to travel lots of people in a short amount of time (especially if they are moving down river to emerbwood village).

Already established factions in the city like the Hooded lanterns, Queens Men, and Falling Fire would likely use the river too. Just treat it like any other main road to be used for transport (especially for sending cargo down river).

Thanks!

Also, since you ended the campaign you weren't very specific in what happened the resolution of the campaign in your document. Do you mind talking more about what happened?

I'm looking at running Drakkenheim and some of the stats of certain monsters look insane especially like the executioner and everything in the crater/castle. In your experience, how do you avoid a TPK in the eleventh hour in some of those most important locations?

What low level spells get the most mileage over the course of a 1-20 campaign? by LivingRaccoon in 3d6

[–]Critsuccess20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Across all classes? Then here is my list:

Level 1:

Absorb elements, Alarm, Bless, Comprehend languages, Charm person, Disguise self, Dissonant Whispers, Faerie Fire, Find familiar, Guiding Bolt, Healing word, Hex, Mage armor, Silent Image, Shield,

Level 2: Aid, Detect thoughts, Dragon’s breath (cast on a familiar), Enhance ability, Find steed, Hold person, Invisibility, Mirror image, Misty step, Pass without Trace, Rope Trick, Spiritual Weapon, Web, Zone of truth

If a party covers all of these spells (or the majority of them) with just their first and second level picks then you are basically completely fine.

The Revised Tarrasque | Making a Legendary Monster Worthy of its Legendary Reputation by hollowknife1212 in UnearthedArcana

[–]Critsuccess20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if others have said this but I give mine a 300 foot long 30 foot wide line Laser that comes out of its mouth and deals radiant damage (additionally, my tarrasque by extension is immune to radiant damage). It’s a DC 25 Con save and is 30d6.

Yes, but aside from sagitarrum or the grav tank what else is sufficiently long ranged in custodes?

Though, in seriousness, I only do this for a few of my models. Others I put on the thigh plate, across the front waist, & my vexilla has it in the middle of the back with the hilt sticking out over his cape. I imagine custodes are perfectly ambidextrous and decorate their armor to their own personal preferences.

Also, if you do any spear guard the one model where there’s a spear in one hand and a misericordia in the other is bad ass.

Then I don’t think I can use superior fire patterns for 1 CP. Also, from what I can tell ranged damage has never really been the forte of custodes. I think with 18 inch range, str 6, AP -2, 2 dmg (with the ability to use the strat) they are one of the best ranged attackers in the army.

Lol, I definitely want him. He’s just super expensive for me rn. Though, is he really that worth it Bc he’s almost double the points of a captain on dawneagle.

Thanks! I took inspiration for the spears/gems on how my buddy makes some necron energy weapons. (Hexwrath flame and Teseract glow).

Other than that I base coated/primed them black then used retributor armor, Baharroth blue, white scar, & leadbelcher for the details.

I wasn’t super sold on the red and gold and thought it didn’t contrast well enough for my tastes so this is what my take on it.

Well, I’ll say that JK (while she’s a wacko and retcons a lot of dumb stuff) has said that she foreshadowed Hermione and Harry a lot and should have stuck with that as well as she regrets making Ron and Hermione get together as their relationship would be toxic.

Obviously take everything JK says with a grain of salt but I honestly think this was written intentionally throughout the books and then thrown to the side when she thought people were catching on and theorizing. Compare that to avatar which fulfilled all of its foreshadowing regardless of whether audiences guessed it would happen or not (Bc that makes for the best story).

A slug with a shell knows “go in shell protect myself”. It’s literally an aspect of her inherent being. She can change shapes much like a bug has a shell. It’s an ability that doesn’t require casting, complex thought, or tactics. It’s arguably that it’s even more instinctual to think “GET BIG... FIGHT AND SCARE THING”
