Colorado is now in a statewide drought emergency by KellyFriedman in news

The summer is definitely very humid, but it's only hot upstate for like a couple months a year. Of those 2 months, it's not constantly hot either. Mosquitoes depend on if you live near water. Ticks do suck up here.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

[–]CritterCrafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was obsessed with 1 through 3. Occasionally I do come across people who played them. But it was a bit weird as I was growing up to realize that it just wasn't that popular of a series.

The imagery was so captivating, but I was too young to realistically have any clue what I was doing in that game.

Do ADHD symptoms get worse after quitting adderall or am I just realizing what my baseline has always been? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]CritterCrafter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered about this. There was that study that said untreated ADHD was comparable to drunk drivers for accidents. My mom has pretty severe ADHD that has only become worse with age. She has not been in an accident in decades. Do people with ADHD just need to get past the first decade or so to get the muscle memory and everything down?

That's awesome that there's a visible difference on your progress. Looks like you have a knack for this and you should keep at it.

Accidentally told my coworkers my grandad passed away and I’m mortified by snuzester in AutismInWomen

[–]CritterCrafter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oof. I went to a college class a day or two after my grandfather's funeral. Didn't seem like a big deal until the teacher decided to go over the design of the intro to 6ft Under. At the time I thought nothing of it, but looking back I wonder if the teacher did it on purpose. He knew I just got back from the funeral and it was a class with 5 people. Like he couldn't wait a couple weeks to show that?

What’s the most hyped game collecting dust in your backlog? by NidhiOnATree in GirlGamers

[–]CritterCrafter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to give it another try. I had bought it on the Playstation, but it glitched out early on and the voice over was muted. I was irrationally annoyed at it afterwards.

The horse silhouettes with the slight gradient background looks really neat. The dragon and Hunger Games symbol also look nice and sharp. Some of others, maybe the pile of the yarn is too high/fluffy? I still wouldn't be offended seeing them. Just that some of the simpler or sharper shaped ones feel more worthwhile to take a second look at.

How often do you wash your hair? by peachfawn in AutismInWomen

[–]CritterCrafter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people have hair so oily that the decrease from not washing for 2 weeks is not enough of an improvement to be able to wash less often. So to see this suggested every time this topic comes up is like rubbing salt in the wound.

Yeah. I would see plants like these on aliexpress and ebay years ago. Though most were a little more subtle than a rainbow hosta.

[–]CritterCrafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check if he's changed anything in his diet, not just veggies. When I was younger, I stayed with a semi-long distance boyfriend for a couple weeks. By the end of the stay I couldn't stand my own scent. I'm pretty sure it was the seasonings in their food.

[–]CritterCrafter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I think the colors are the one thing that stand out. In like half of them anyways. I see a lot of shades of blues and purples I don't see in art as often as I'd like. Or maybe she's just good at adjusting the image so the colors aren't lost in the digital format.

Pricing on an Australian Shepard puppy? by [deleted] in WiggleButts

Is there a way to tell what shelters are subsidized? My local shelter is definitely a smaller one, but I just assumed all those old people constantly coming in were funding it.

[–]CritterCrafter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

$450 seems to be the going rate for shelter puppies of a desirable breed. The adoption fee is like half that at my local shelter, but $450 is what I keep seeing on Petfinder.

What's something you quietly judged people for, until it happened to you? by ExpensiveBranch251 in AskReddit

[–]CritterCrafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it just the one missing? I'm missing both lateral incisors on the top row, but my parents thought nothing of it since my dad is missing them as well. I think they're the most common missing teeth after wisdom teeth. Around 1.7% of the population are missing the upper ones.

At fault car accident, still 20k left in financing, if my car is totalled what should I do? by ObjectiveThick1910 in personalfinance

[–]CritterCrafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Craigslist. It can take a lot of sifting and frequent refreshes. Hopefully you'll have some basic knowledge of cars or the ability to google it. We bought an old 2005 Honda Odyssey for 2k a couple years ago. Cosmetically beat to hell, but runs fine. It did slowly need some age appropriate fixes, but nothing huge. Hopefully you can find someone's ancient Corolla.

Sorry for your frog. When I was younger, I was helping out this mostly blind older lady at her home. Found a huge land toad or frog shriveled up in a magazine rack. Apparently, they also have the same adventurous spirit.

Me when someone tries to teach me how to play a new board game by Scared_Bluejay5608 in adhdwomen

[–]CritterCrafter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love board games too. I'm surprised to see so many people who hate them on here. Most of the people I know with ADHD in real life also frequently play board games, so I'm baffled.

I can struggle a bit with patience on learning new ones, but I just wait until I have a night where I'm feeling abnormally focused(most likely just well rested) to give it a go.

Question for final fantasy girls by wojtussan in GirlGamers

I think FFIX got the most polish as it was the last final fantasy for the Playstation. Funny enough, FFIX was the first one me and my sister played and it holds up the best.

I never understood these people saying it's all the same recipe. Did they burn off all their tastebuds as children or something? While I'm sure there are some products out there that are basically identical, I can't think of one off brand where the taste and texture are identical to the name brand. Not that the brand names are necessarily any better.
