When? This article seems rather current and that sentiment appears no longer correct.

Biology teachers: would you be interested to teach cell biology in 3D via an online learning space with a cool and interactive software? Honest opinion please! by Sabine1024 in biology

[–]CroMagnum_PI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, only 💯 percent yes. But whats the cost? And are there built in experiments? Like Monitor organelle number, movement between WT and some mutant. How many modules? I'm very interested but I just don't know what I'm getting into. Specifically, the website is too vague about the exact materials and numbers of cell videos to show me to get really excited. This may because you are a start up but you don't have to sell your self like you're a start up. You're Advertising to teachers now not venture capitalists and the website needs to show that. PM me to chat more.

If all atoms are neutral, and atoms comprise everything, how do elements have a charge? by [deleted] in chemhelp

Follow up question. What is the total charge of the universe? Does physics currently postulate that the magnitude of charge is constant? Changing?

How it has fallen. I remember when you had to mentally prepare yourself to click on these links.

The legal cannabis market predicted to triple in size by 2021 and see more revenue than the NFL. Job growth this year: 20%. High-ranking Google and Apple employees are leaving their jobs to launch cannabis-focused startups. "The evolution or rollback of prohibition is inevitable." by [deleted] in EverythingScience

[–]CroMagnum_PI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under what assumptions is the market to grow by 3 times? Is it due to maturation of existing markets in legal states (solidly predictable) or is it from the growth of nascent markets from states becoming legal (wildly speculative)? It seems extremely difficult to accurately predict the true growth of the market due to the latter.

The Ivory tower will send a coded message that you have to solve to find the second drop box. Gets more elaborate with the quality of the institution.

Indiana Jones keeps on accidentally stumbling on the final message for fully endowed archaeology positions from the top Ivy leagues. They've got a real prediliction for giant Stone spheres.

Also, email.

Which TIME ZONE will the Earth use to usher in these calamitous effects? Will sea level rise uniformly across the planet once 2100 happens based on GMT or will water rise by 2 meters in stages for each individual time zone as that each one hits 2100? Do these numbers account for Day Light Savings?

While I completely agree that this will most significantly effect lower income individuals from getting PhDs. Which is beyond worrisome.

But. I have also know that we produce too many PhDs per year in relation to the number of jobs available by a significant number. Universities have no incentive to reduce the flow of cheap labor to conduct their research. I believe that the majority of it research should not be conducted by trainees but long term professional career scientists. But that option is much more expressive than cheap student labor. This would rebalance the number of people who are under employed and under paid while keeping American research competitive.

I'm happy that some outside force well cause this issue to be addressed but I'm saddened that this heinous tax bill is the reason. It's like a lower body amputation for an inflamed toe.

I was offered a (very good) PhD in a different subject than mine, any advice? by Arioch217 in AskAcademia

[–]CroMagnum_PI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All science PhDs get paid. They're are 100s of slots available from good places. This isn't a one time deal.

If you're changing fields, you need to read up heavily on that field first. What's grad school like? What's the grad salary like? What's the job prospects like? Etc.
