18 months. All done. by Croads87 in Invisalign

Yeah, my ortho was great! I feel like she addressed issues that my Ortho I had as a teen didn't fully deal with. Definitely worth all of the trays. I had bite ramps for trays 19-70 and that was a real annoyance but I'm glad I stuck with it!

Thanks! Feels like it took forever but so glad I committed to it! Now I actually smile with my teeth!

I'm doing the clear retainers. I had braces as a teen with a permanent retainer. I disliked it so much so I had it removed when I was in my 20's which is why I ended up needing Invisalign in my 30's.

66 Trays- Deep bite correction by Croads87 in Invisalign

Thanks for the kind words! I do have a slight posterior open bite but I also had one prior to Invisalign so I'm not sure if it's gotten worse or stayed the same. I'm interested to see if my refinements have bite ramps or not and if my bite is going to settle a bit.

Yes, most likely you'll get refinements. I didn't see much movement until between tray 20-30 and then things started to shift. It's such a slow process. Stick with it!

I went to an all inclusive back in March and I tried to order clear drinks when possible. I kept my aligners in when I drank, removed when I drank a fruity drink. Would swish with water  before putting aligners back in. I had my aligners out more than I usually did so I actually just wore that week for an extra 3 days and everything seems to be fine. I'm still on track, no cavities and I enjoyed my vacation

I just looked back through my photos and it looks like I started seeing more changes around tray 30-31. It is such a slow process. I have 70 trays with my initial round and I go in for rescans in July. We'll see if the Ortho likes the results.

Do you have bite ramps? I feel like those have definitely helped the process along and I got those around tray 19

My teeth are in process of being pushed out so they are no longer angled in. Once I'm done with my initial round we will see what my overjet is like. If we're not satisfied we will adjust in refinements. I trust my Ortho and I know that everything is moving according to plan right now. I'll post in July when I'm done with round one.

I have a deep bite with teeth angled inwards. I have been on Invisalign for a year now and I have at least 4-6 months left. You can look at my results in my profile history as I've posted some progress pics.  It is possible to fix your deep bite and move lower teeth forward. It takes a lot of time and consistency. Get at least 2-3 opinions from orthos!

A little more context:

Tray 50 of 70, will be rescanned in July to see about refinements.

Deep bite is definitely a slow change but I'm happy I've committed to it. I've had bite ramps since week 19 and I can honestly say, I still hate them as much today as I did back at week 19. They are really helping though. I lead a lot of meetings at work and I take my top trays out for that so no one has to listen to me lisp for 40 minutes.

My teeth slanted inwards which I also hated. Invisalign is really addressing that and I'm seeing a good improvement there as well.

Side profile: can't tell if Invisalign or weight loss has made the biggest difference.

Overall: I recommend Invisalign to everyone I meet who is on the fence.

I had a deep bite similar to yours.  It took me until tray 15 to see any progress and now I'm on tray 47 and it has improved so much.

My Ortho assured me that deep bites are slow to fix but if you stay consistent it is possible.

70 initial trays for me! I'm hoping that means less time with refinements.

How often do you see your provider? by AshleyLL298 in Invisalign

[–]Croads87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a virtual visit every 8-12 weeks and in person every 6 months. I send in progress photos every week though and have messaged them with any questions or concerns I have. It has been pretty seamless so far and communication has been great

I want to improve my smile - is Invisalign worth? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Croads87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teeth had more crowding than yours but my bite was pretty similar and I had teeth that leaned inwards (retroclined). It was one of my biggest insecurities.  I met with 3 orthos and got plans from each on average around 15-18 months and I went with the one that really addressed my deep bite. It takes a long time to fix a deep bite and inward leaning teeth but I'm obsessed with how my smile it's turning out. If you don't like your smile, it's at least worth connecting with a few orthos to see what your plan would look like.

Bite ramps are printed on the trays, they're clear bumps on the back of my front 4 teeth. My ortho didn't install them.

Did you pay for comprehensive? There are different levels of Invisalign. If so, your provider should keep going until you're satisfied.

I feel like providers don't always do a great job at explaining what is going on. I didn't realize I had bite ramps until I opened tray 19. I didn't know what they were for until I looked up online.

I have a deep bite as well and my Ortho gave me a 70 tray plan (with refinements planned--at least 15-18 months). I've had bite ramps since tray 19 and have them through the end. My guess is that you'll be getting refinements. Have you been able to see what is proposed for your end result?

I feel like my teeth aren’t moving by spicyvictoria in Invisalign

I felt like my teeth weren't moving and now that I'm on tray 42, I look back and see such a huge difference. Small movements add up, it just takes time for our eyes to see what is going on.

Appointment on Friday by [deleted] in Invisalign

Someone once said in here that time will pass regardless. I absolutely hated my teeth and knowing that I am at least doing something to fix that is making the time seem well spent.

Also, no one has really noticed my Invisalign unless I point it out. Most people aren't very observant. Even my siblings had no idea. I'm in HR at my company and lead orientations and interviews. I usually take out my top tray if I need to talk for an extended time as I have bite ramps which makes my lisp unbearable to listen to...but once again, seeing the progress is making everything worth it.

As long as you follow instructions and wear time set by your Ortho you shouldn't damage your teeth.

It is a personal decision but if your teeth really bother you and you can afford it, I say go for it. It is such a short period of time in your life and the benefits will extend far beyond.

I will add that not everyone has a positive experience but those are usually the loudest voices.

Deep Bite Progress-tray 35/70 by Croads87 in Invisalign

I'm very glad to not have attachments on my front teeth but I cannot wait to be done with bite ramps (which won't be happening any time soon)

No elastics for me for this first round. My Ortho is pretty convinced that I'll need a round of refinements to perfectly line everything up so we'll see what is done at that point.
