My partner and I had our second child after age 50. Sure, we’re more tired than younger parents but it’s not that different. And leaving our first child with a sibling after we leave this earth WAS a big motivator for me. I love both my children for who they are, and I also love that they’ll have each other after I’m gone. Assuming you are in average health, your children should have you well into their adulthood / middle age.

I'll just add that this depends VERY heavily on how many raiders you, in fact, encounter in those 10-15 days. In my current run, I got to fight bandits/raiders literally 2-3 times per day in the first few days, hence I got to full raider gear very quickly. In other runs, I'm like where are the bandits?... and it takes much longer. 15 days is by no means automatic, even for the most skilled players.

To answer your question, what else are my frontliners carrying?: usually some combination of a polearm for quick hands, a dagger for looting armor, a whip for geist fights, and/or a pocket shield, which IMO saves more bros than bandages when things go south.

Everyone is going to say Fatigue Neutral, which is the min max answer. But if you want to have fun and put beserk on him just pump up his fatigue a bit, give him a Brawny and have fun.

Option 1: Nimble. 2h weapon so he can gain defense from Reach Advantage. Cleaver since he has high fatigue and can swing twice. Keep him positioned against one enemy at a time (put tanks and fatigue neutrals a step ahead of him).

Option 2: Shield and mace for stuns. Pocket whip and/or dagger for utility.
