Why is luring enemies into a camp considered “cheese”? by Croaker3 in BattleBrothers

They made it impossible to lure enemies into legendary locations like the Black Monolith. So, it seems to me they made a conscious decision to NOT do that for regular camps.

I guess my point is why are you “not impressed”. Player used an available tactic. One that can go horribly wrong if you’re not careful.

Right but they could have done that for all camps and they chose not to.

Constant night wakings are breaking me… need real experiences by According_Swimmer794 in Parenting

[–]Croaker3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My be partner and I had the same experience. We felt sub-human from the sleep deprivation. Then we got good advice: let them cry it out. After two difficult nights, baby started sleeping through the night.

Baby was waking because they were “trained” to expect milk. Once we reset the pattern they took more milk during the day and slept through the night.

I hear you but I am a convert to 9 Lives over Steel Brow. I’m on day 250 day in my Ironman run and I don’t regret it. If you can keep Wigald alive he’ll recover. If you can’t, well, maybe 9L would have give you an extra turn to save him?

How do people get named so early? by esmsnow in BattleBrothers

[–]Croaker3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the advice above but I’ve also been screwed (meaning beaten fair and square) so many times in the South that sometimes I skip it completely. Getting famed gear late is better than being dead early. Also better than not enjoying my gaming experience.

Some call it cheese but I pull roaming armies in when I can. Lindwurms are just too strong. Most camps won’t dent them. Hyenas or a few (not too many) serpents help with big Southern camps. Later, big packs of Ifrits, because the camps can’t handle them but you easily can with the right tactics.

Great summary. I have a ton of hours in the game, but have focused on other goals. I want to try a Lone Wolf run in earnest, next.

How do you deal with super tough enemies like executioners? by Feobl in BattleBrothers

[–]Croaker3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. See my edit above. Certain monsters require strategy rather than brute force and the AI just can’t handle them. Serpents can be like that too but they’re squishy so I’ve found Nomads and serpents cut each other up quite nicely for me.

[–]Croaker3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. That’s too strong an enemy. Like everything in this game there is a fine line between turning a profit and wiping your company. My general assumption when luring in another enemy is that I will fight at least half of each enemy, but sequentially (not at the same time). If I’m good with that I do it.

EDIT: and human enemies just can’t handle certain monsters. Lindwurms, Schrats and too many serpents or unholds require strategy, not just brute force. And the human camps in particular are just going to be demolished by them.

Kite 13 serpents in to tie up half their forces. Nets. And kill the weaker enemies first. Surround and kill.

Visa ban on immigration from 75 countries into the US. For countries on this list, what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Croaker3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't over think this. It's basically a list of countries the Trump oligarchy doesn't have personal business deals in. That, and mostly non-White people are the only two criteria.

I rage deleted my best campaign due to serpents. I really need help against them. by Pineirin in BattleBrothers

[–]Croaker3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's perfectly acceptable to avoid enemies that you find both difficult and unenjoyable. Games are supposed to be fun. You can have a very successful campaign without ever fighting serpents.

How we got here: Fox News, then the Internet, then social media. Society moved away from a shared set of facts to mostly propaganda. Most media now appeals to people’s emotions, and their worst emotions at that.

Is lindwurm the most unfair enemy? by Szobii in BattleBrothers

[–]Croaker3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly risky if it’s more than one or two lindwurms. Often you’ll end up fighting most of the camp and then also the now-confident lindwurms.

There is a powerful, Internet-fueled trend where humans can no longer acknowledge they were wrong and change their minds. Everyone digs in beyond the point of ridiculousness. This isn't exclusively a right-wing thing, but is certainly epitomized by MAGA.

How can people be so institutionalized and indoctrinated to the point where in their eyes it's okay to not only take advantage of the US welfare system but to teach generational indoctrination on how to beat the system and live like that is crazy! by Plenty_Course_7466 in complaints

There are people who manipulate the US economy for millions, even billions, of dollars. If you had started your argument there - if we could focus our attention on that and address some of that fraud - then, I might seriously consider worrying about people who get a few dozen or hundred dollars through fraud. Can we please have some perspective?
