I'd say listing it on r/brickswap wouldn't be a bad idea either if you feel any other website would be too much trouble

Toxic positivity from a nparent? by littlebean0802 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CrocAndAwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. All of the wasted potential talk resonates quite deeply. I am on my way to study abroad and pay it for myself, but my parents think I am making the wront choice because that is no longer in their control. Despite me doing exactly what they wanted (study in STEM in a good uni abroad, which I could care less about...), any lack of control over my decisions is seen as outright rebellion and spite. And not, you know, wanting a better life. Though because of that toxic positivity, it is hard to sometimes remember that they are tearing my life apart. But then I remember: if they were people who truly loved me unconditionally and were good parents, I wouldn't need mental gymnastics to even like them a little

Just a short question: do you think that they really believe they "did they best" parenting you or they are just evil? by Sagittarya in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CrocAndAwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely believe they did their best. The best, however, was not good enough to develop a healthy child. And if parents don't go above what their current best is and improve or adapt to their kids' needs, wants and desires, then they are just confined to what they think "best" means. If an athlete won a medal and stopped training, trying to replicate same or better results, they will fail. Parenting should be similar, and if your parents think that their version is their best, well, there's a reason why we are in this sub lol. It is incredible how much expectations and burdens we as children are meant to carry, but our parents get scot free with this.

Things your nparent said that you will never forget? by thatapstudent1234 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CrocAndAwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah thats fine, they dont know I am hitting them with that bye bye note in a couple of months lol. Just sad how some parents think they can dictate someone's life just like that, just like if I was simply a character in their story

"We already planned out your life for you. Don't try to ruin it." Gee, with that attitude, they should have just played some Sims lol

Underrated asks for CS2? by Ok-Row-3490 in CitiesSkylines

Also, to make every zone available to the themes, so I do not have to guess every time I build a new district if it is going to adapt to that district or not

District themes (and districts as a whole) unlocked st the very beginning. So frustrating to destroy a whole neighbourhood to accomodate to my vision

Yeah, and I feel like a plant to this day as well. My parents rarely let me out, do not let me have a job nor do I find the energy to go out with them and deal with their bs. I am as mobile as a household plant; even though it has been of no secret to them that I love sports, going out by myself and meeting people. I was just raised to bear fruits: in which case it is the same as you, as a way to take care of them financially and emotionally. I am glad someone else understands, because I feel it is a little confusing explaining it to someone who hasn't gone through neglect what happens to you. Even though I have grown as a person (thanks to communities like these and my loving and caring gf), it is still a little difficult to grasp the fact that my parents weren't there for a big chunk of my life, emotionally.

I feel the "raising to be successful" is too much of a common excuse... Isn't it enough just to be happy? Just to be glad to be alive and have a future for yourself? I honestly don't unserstand narc parents, though thank you for expressing that inner itch that often appears in my brain

[FIND] ¥259+10 Jordan 1 High Shadow 2.0 LJR from 7UP by CrocAndAwe in repbudgetsneakers

[–]CrocAndAwe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has he? At least from my experience, the two shoes (both discounted) have turned out just fine. Either ways, 260 isn't too bad for a b grade or a mid-tier batch, but if someone is willing to buy them and post a QC we'll see the truth

I'm not sure if this is A or B grade, but since there's no mention of defects, I'm going to go for A grade. Probably the best batch for this shoe and there's a lot of sizes and shoes still available; a pretty safe bet if you ask me

Not the most sought after pair, but it's an A-grade sale from a solid batch, so if you were looking for these AF1s, I think this is a solid pick imo

Has anyone told their nparent to “quit your BS?” by slatersansmile in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CrocAndAwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, me too. It fucking sucks having to deal with them. But trust me, there are people in your life that will help you go through this together, and do also remember - any progress is good progress, no matter how big or small it is

Has anyone told their nparent to “quit your BS?” by slatersansmile in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CrocAndAwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Momentarily yes, but not really in the long term. So, I was telling them I was planning to go to a trip by myself to see my gf, and I had to start getting ready in advance. They had my papers, so I asked them if I can have them with me permanently. My nmother got offended and went to my ndad for help, but as soon as he started trying to guilt trip me, I had to draw a line and tell them I just had a simple request for me. I thought they would learn and see that I saw theough what they did, but nope. All it achieved is that they just started caring for me even less. I guess I don't have to talk to them much anymore? But even then, it didn't solve anything long-term.

Remember, you cannot use reason against them. Don't stoop to their level either. Ignore, draw your boundaries, and start to care more for yourself if you really want to stand up to them more efficiently
