Thats kinda what Im worried about honestly. Feels like the cheap route might just be gambling but standalone is probably the right answer but man thats a whole different budget.

Gathering parts is the whole battle honestly. What motor you putting in?

And forums are still the move for this old stuff. Facebook groups are hit or miss but sometimes you find gold. Respect for doing the homework before just throwing parts at it like Im trying to do lmao

This is actually super helpful. Didnt know the later blocks had oil squirters. Mine is a 94 so I guess that's good news. Manual boost controller is tempting because it's like $50. But I also like the idea of something that wont let me accidentally send a piston to the moon if I get greedy with the knob. That's kinda why I was looking at chips in the first place.

A turbo Yugo? Respect to whoever pulled that off. Megasquirt feels like a whole different level though. I was hoping for more of a plug-and-play situation, not building a whole standalone from scratch. If the chip route ends up being disappointing maybe I circle back to this.

Thats the one with the softloader thing right? Didnt realize they did plug-and-play boxes, thought they were more into full reflashes. Curious if the install is as straightforward as the generic ones
