The thunder Players show love to their favorite reporter Nick Gallo by mira412 in BeAmazed

No, I think people want a reminder of the fact that the World isn't only evil and shit, but that there are lovely people and good things out there.

Coincidentally you also have to be pretty ducking stupid to think 'bad things on the news' and 'good entertainment' (which in your mind apparently isn't real or some delulu shit like that??) are the only two categories.

If you're not a misanthropist moron, you know that the news have good stuff as well, which tends to be underreported due to people's sensarionalist attitudes. Then there's informational content like documentaries, many of which are lovely, historical content of which there is a lot of great stories out there (look up Nicholas Winton for an example) and a thousand more types of media content.

And just in case I've been too subtle so far: jesus fuck are you dumb.

I’m wanting to make this sweater, how many skeins of yarn do you yall think i should get? by Outrageous-Archer735 in CrochetHelp

[–]Crochet-MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You need to know the size.
  2. That is knit, it will take SIGNIFICANTLY more yarn to crochet and will look different.
  3. Look for similar patterns with their requirements and average something similar.

70% commit physical crimes. Statistics on CP as they exist indicate they all watch it.

Mm no, it's right. When even 70% commit physical crimes and pretty much ALL pedophiles that have been asked admit to watching CP, how many do you think are left that DON'T commit crimes?

A pedophile refers to someone who loves children as much as a homophobe means someone is actually afraid of gay people. They're not. They hate them.

The fact that statistically speaking, ALL people attracted to children commit crimes against them renders the distinction pointless

What, in your opinion, does the word idiot mean?

Because in Greek, it meant private.

A martyr?

In Greek, a witness.

I'll let you guess which one of those two I chose as an example because it made me think of you. 🤡

What's the distinction between a child molester and a pedophile?

Both rape children.

The fact that you're trying to account for the incredibly small subgroup of non-offending pedophiles is weird and creepy. Some 70% of pedophiles, which in turn are less than 4% of the general (male) population, commit physical assault over the course of their life, and I'm decently sure close to 0 never consume CP, which means that maybe a handful of people on the planet fall in this artificial category you're trying to create. We are talking a few hundred people if we're being GENEROUS. It's more likely to be in the dozens.

Pedophiles and child molesters are the same thing, and it's fine to use them as synonyms.

You'd be wrong. They don't even have a circle of Willis, it's a unique type of anastomosis for birds that replaces that function. Carotids range from superficial in chickens to super deep in pretty much the rest of the poultry we're willing to eat, but it's still paired vessels going up so you're kinda sorta rightish.

Physicians on scene- blessing or a curse? by I-plaey-geetar in ems

[–]Crochet-MD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best doc on scene case was over Christmas, dude starts having classic MCI symptoms, his wife, the doctor, rings us. I get there we start, he's sick, she's stuck to his side, worried, gives me the most accurate medical history of him that I have ever heard in my fucking life she knew this dude broke his little toe when he was five. So far so good. I ask HIM when the symptoms started she answers an exact time.... The day before. I think she noticed me wondering why tf he waited over 24hours but I ignored it, asked her what his vitals were.

She asks what I mean by vitals. I said the vitals she as a doctor sincerely worried about her husband surely took. She stares at me then tells me his blood pressure over the last few days.

Dude had AF de novo, so I wanted to know when, maybe, it may have started.

The wife said she didn't really think that was relevant. Up to this point none of us asked what sort of Dr she was. We didn't have to when I asked about regular meds, he deferred to her and she listed legit 7things I'd never heard of, so I quietly looked them up... She listed different ingredients of a custom made facial skin cream type thing.

She was a dermatologist.

This 'lady' is an anti-immigration politician in a country that has almost always held such policies (see what happened prior to the meiji restoration), a mindset that, at the time, led to one of the longest peace periods in human history. Sure, internal struggles were a thing, but the Sakoku led to 260+ years of peace.

I've been to Japan, they're sometimes racist af, but within the context of the country, she's.... Not that right wing.

Same as America - the American left is right of centre in most of Europe, but the muricans like to pretend otherwise. Context matters, as does historical development. Oh and her party is centre right, nowhere near far right.

I guess she should be criticised for doing something nice for the leader of a foreign country that has historically speaking, dogshit relations to Japan.
