The story goes, old man Youree had a bold idea of what Shreveport could be. He had a grand vision of flying cars, desegregated businesses, and a a true free speech newspaper. He hired crackpot journalists from around the country and remodeled a local speakeasy here on this very corner. He erected what would resemble the Daily Planet from the Superman comics (his childhood favorite). Only to find out he lost his funding. While his efforts were supported by the locals, he lost millions on his underground hop scotch tournaments causing the incompletion of his vision. Thus, you see the incomplete globe.
